Monster Train 2 Chugs to Xbox Series X|S Later This Year With New Cards and Deckbuilding Tactics
Publisher Devolver Digital, along with developer Shiny Shoe, has revealed that the follow-up game to 2020’s deckbuilder hit, Monster Train, titled Monster Train 2, is slated for release on both consoles and PC towards the end of this year.
In the next installment, we’ll expand upon the multi-level combat system from the original game, where players must vanquish seemingly invincible Titans who are bent on destroying our world. You’ll be part of an alliance between Heaven and Hell, requiring you to outsmart cunning adversaries from various enemy factions. Choose from one of the five new playable clans in the game.
In this game, each Clan offers unique tactical advantages to help you gain an upper hand. You’ll find a variety of fresh and old cards, plus new card categories such as Room Cards that amplify the strength of a single train floor, Equipment Cards that augment individual unit abilities, and Neutral Cards that are beneficial regardless of Clan affiliation. These Neutral Cards can provide pivotal moments in the game. Also, expect to see new unit skills for the upcoming sequel.
As a fervent admirer, I’m thrilled to share that the next installment in the Monster Train series, packed with an Endless Mode, Daily and Dimensional Challenges, customizable train designs offering buffs, leaderboards, and a whole lot more, is set to arrive on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC this year. Can’t wait to hop aboard!
