Bond fans brace for 3-year wait as legal battles delay next 007: Who will be the new super-spy?
It remains uncertain as to who will take over Daniel Craig’s role as the next James Bond character.
It looks like we might need to be patient, as the next episode in the series could be delayed up to three years due to ongoing legal disputes.
In 2021, the latest James Bond film, “No Time to Die,” hit theaters. According to its previous director, Martin Campbell, it might not return to the big screen until as late as 2028.
Martin, responsible for directing Casino Royale and GoldenEye, shared with The Mirror his thoughts that it might be approximately two to three years before the project is completed.
He mentioned that the question on everyone’s mind is whether there will be another Bond movie. Currently, there’s a legal matter ongoing, and they seem to be facing issues similar to those with Amazon.
It emerged in December that the release of the new movie had temporarily halted due to a continuous dispute between Amazon and the James Bond series’ producer.

The titan of streaming services, known for its ownership of MGM, the studio behind the production of Bond movies, has found itself in a dispute with Barbara Broccoli, the daughter of the initial Bond producer Albert R. Broccoli, and her half-brother.
According to the Wall Street Journal, it appears that Broccoli, aged 64, reportedly expressed frustration to friends about the people at Amazon, using strong language to describe them as not particularly intelligent. Additionally, he stated that Amazon’s streaming service, Prime Video, does not seem to be a suitable platform for a super-spy.
Martin made it clear that the upcoming bond movie would hit theaters before becoming available for streaming, and he also ruled out any plans for a TV series spin-off.
He stated that Barbara won’t waver from her stance, insisting it’s a theatrical performance. She doesn’t plan on releasing it directly to streaming platforms right away. For Barbara, Bond is more about creating an event rather than streaming content instantly.
For several months now, there’s been a lot of speculation about who might take on the role of 0 Martin hinted that Taz Skylar, the lead actor in his recent action movie “Cleaner,” could be a strong contender for the part.
Earlier this month, Stuart Martin found himself potentially stepping into Daniel Craig’s shoes without realizing it.
Compared to other potential candidates, the 38-year-old Scottish actor is less recognized yet has reportedly left a strong impression on executives due to his past ten years of impressive performances.
A well-known actor, standing at 6 feet 2 inches, is said to have quietly discussed potential roles with Eon Productions, known for creating the iconic spy films. According to sources, he might be a strong candidate to portray the secret agent 007.

Should he be selected, he would become the first Scottish actor since Sean Connery initially portrayed the role to assume the character of the British secret agent.
In 1962, the actor who would later pass away first appeared in Dr. No. His distinctive accent led author Ian Fleming to incorporate Scottish ancestry into James Bond’s backstory.
As a die-hard 007 enthusiast, I’ve heard whispers among insiders in the Bond universe; they’re buzzing about a certain name: Stuart. It’s creating quite a stir within our inner circle!
‘There’s strong speculation that he might land the role. Although Eon Productions is being secretive about casting, it would certainly be a significant achievement if the new James Bond were Scottish.’
The source mentioned that there are yet some ‘steps to take’ involving several encounters with Eon, which would help them understand his character better.
As a dedicated follower, I’d like to emphasize this point: Eon isn’t concerned with the fame of the individual chosen for the position. Instead, it’s all about finding the right person, the one who they believe is most qualified and fitting for this transformative opportunity.
‘It is more pressure, scrutiny and stress than any other movie role.’
