Elden Ring Tarnished Edition Pre-Orders Appear on Amazon for $79.99

Following a brief postponement last year, FromSoftware might soon reveal when Elden Ring will be available on the Nintendo Switch 2. Listings for a Tarnished Edition – including both the game and the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion – have shown up on Amazon for $79.99, suggesting a release is coming.

The release date of December 31st, 2026 is obviously temporary. However, the game’s box art seems real. It shows the game will be released on a Game-Key Card, which some collectors who prefer physical copies might not like. Considering the game and its expansion are so large, it’s understandable that Bandai Namco couldn’t fit everything onto a single game cartridge. On the bright side, the full game download is only 75 GB, which isn’t too bad.

The release of Elden Ring Tarnished Edition, initially planned for 2026, was pushed back due to performance issues. Along with earlier improvements, this version includes new weapons, armor, and ways to customize your mount – all of which will also be available as a separate, paid download for all players. In addition to bringing games like The Lands Between and The Land of Shadow to the new Switch 2 console, FromSoftware is reportedly developing The Duskbloods, a multiplayer game that combines player-versus-player and player-versus-environment combat. It’s currently expected to be released in late 2026.
