Kanye West Slams Nike’s New Design, Sparking Controversy Amid Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS Collab
In a recent post, Kanye West subtly criticized someone, as it turned out that his ex-wife Kim Kardashian had unveiled her new collaboration with the company around the same time.
On Tuesday, it was revealed that the creator of SKIMs, Kim, is set to debut a fresh activewear label, NikeSkims, by merging her company with the influential sports apparel giant, Nike.
Coincidentally, just when it was particularly apt, Kanye West, aged 47, used Instagram to subtly criticize a new design from Nike, likening it to one of his own creations.
Kanye playfully implied that the latest Nike shoe was unique and exceptional when he posted images of it on social media, but TopMob has not stated that Nike has replicated Kanye’s design.

In response to Kanye’s post with hints of sarcasm, his fans commented: “Are you all actually missing the sarcasm here?”; “Is Kanye being sarcastic? Laugh out loud!”; “To clarify, Kanye created this design first.
One individual asked, “I’m not certain if he’s casting shade or expressing affection,” and another replied, “He’s stating that Nike imitated the Yeezy design of the 700 model.
Another said: ‘For those that are confused, he made this design first.’
Three years back, I severed connections with Adidas, fierce competitors to my long-time collaborators at Nike, all while the storm of my controversial remarks swirled around me. This move led to a halt in the production of my highly profitable Yeezy shoe line.
As a devoted devotee, I can’t help but marvel at the potential profitability of this collaboration, which seems almost on par with Nike’s long-standing alliance with Michael Jordan over the past few decades.
At that moment, Adidas expressed that they do not accept or condone antisemitism, as well as any form of discriminatory or hateful language.
For several weeks before his fallout with the sneaker company, Kanye had been making antisemitic remarks in interviews and on social media. One example is a Twitter post from October where he stated that he would soon take action against Jewish people, using a term that seemed to refer to DEFCON, which is the U.S. defense readiness condition scale.
It is believed by executives that Adidas had approximately $1.3 billion in Yeezy stock on hand at the time of their partnership termination. Now, they are gradually selling these items in small quantities.
Just recently, within the past week, Kanye was let go by talent agency 33 & West based in Los Angeles due to a string of posts he made over the weekend that promoted antisemitic views and other highly offensive statements on social media platform X.
33 & West’s representative, Daniel McCartney, shared on his Instagram Stories that he was no longer able to represent Kanye West as of last Monday, addressing approximately 7,000 followers.
‘Starting from now, I no longer support YE (formerly known as Kanye West), because of his recent comments which are harmful and filled with hate. My team and I cannot condone this behavior. Peace and love to everyone.’
The timeline of when the agency first collaborated with Hurricane the artist wasn’t initially evident; it only became known after they announced their decision to part ways.

NikeSkims is set to introduce its inaugural collection this coming spring, which can be purchased on their official websites or found in retail stores nationwide within the United States. An international launch is planned for the following year.
