Wendy Williams Moved to Memory Unit After Boozy Lunch at Assisted Living Facility
In my latest update, I find myself transitioning to a memory care facility following an enjoyable lunch with friends, as per recent reports, in this new phase of my life at an assisted living center.
Information surfaced regarding why the 60-year-old ex-chat show host, spotted with a revamped appearance in Miami over the weekend, has been experiencing limited mobility within her assisted living facility as of late.
On Monday, it was reported by sources to TMZ that she had been transferred to a more confined memory wing in the facility, following accusations of her becoming intoxicated at a restaurant within the premises.
DailyMail.com has attempted to reach Williams’ guardian for comment.
Wendy mentioned that during the last thirty days, she was permitted to leave her care facility on just two occasions, both times for dental check-ups.
According to TMZ’s report, there might be details about why Wendy was transferred to a stricter area within her assisted living home, possibly limiting her outdoor excursions from the building.
As reported by an employee who frequently interacts with Wendy since her arrival, it was arranged for her to start in a third-floor room, providing the freedom for building residents to come and go at their leisure.
Yet, a turn for the worse occurred at the start of her term as she spent an extended lunchtime at the eatery and bar situated on the upper level of the premises.
As an ardent admirer, I’ve got to spill the beans on this: I noticed that Wendy seemed to indulge in quite a few rounds of alcoholic beverages, and she appeared tipsy for quite some time, if you catch my drift!
It’s said that the managers found out about her intoxicated incident and were dismayed because she was given alcohol, as she has a history of alcohol problems.
In reaction to Wendy’s intoxicated lunch, it is said that she was moved to a different room, specifically on the fifth floor of the memory unit within the facility.
Due to a number of residents suffering from dementia and related memory problems, they find it difficult to operate the elevator independently.
At the new spot, it seems Wendy isn’t allowed to head upstairs to the eatery for a drink. However, it remains uncertain whether she’s barred from stepping off the floor entirely or if she can step out as long as there’s someone overseeing her.
Nevertheless, the reassignment encountered an issue because the memory unit lacked available rooms, causing Wendy to temporarily remain in her third-floor room. Employees were stationed at the door to ensure she didn’t exit during this time.

Based on what the source confided, it seems that workers at the facility deceived the talk show host by claiming the restaurant was undergoing renovations when in reality, it appears to have been operational throughout.
Following several days, it’s said that a room became available on the fifth floor, enabling her to relocate there. Since then, she has stayed put on this floor.
It’s troubling to learn about Wendy being held under restrictions while being fed supposed lies, especially considering that the employee maintains their memory is intact.
‘Wendy doesn’t have good and bad days. She’s the same all the time,’ they claimed to TMZ.
‘You can tell her something today and two weeks later she’ll remember it. Her memory is fine.’
In the course of my daily updates on personal and family matters, I’d like to share that on a recent Wednesday, I found myself taking a significant step forward in my journey. I made an official declaration, or affidavit, requesting the presiding judge in my guardianship case to bring this chapter to a close. This development was reported by TMZ.
According to the legal agreement, it appears that Williams declared she is once again capable of managing herself autonomously, and furthermore, she stated that she no longer necessitates a guardian to supervise her.
She has a guardianship overseen by Sabrina Morrissey, which was instituted in 2022.
She has a number of remaining hurdles to overcome before she can terminate the guardianship. If she wants to reclaim her independence, she’ll need to convince the judge.
To clarify this matter, Williams plans to show evidence demonstrating that she does not suffer from Frontotemporal Dementia, a diagnosis made by doctors in the past.

In her sworn statement, she declared she doesn’t have the neurological issue. According to reports by TMZ, she is scheduled to meet with a physician on Tuesday for a fresh examination, hoping to verify this claim.
It’s worth mentioning that Frontotemporal Dementia is a persistent and worsening disorder, and the previous host of The Wendy Williams Show is hoping that her observed enhancements in functionality suggest she might not have this condition.
Recently, Williams brought on a new lawyer to assist in terminating the guardianship, and this legal team is tasked with choosing the physician she will consult moving forward.
Based on my understanding from reliable resources, I understand that my lawyer intends to submit an Emergency Motion for a Hearing the day following the tests. This action is expected to prompt the court to consider terminating the guardianship.
She’s optimistic that the judge will concur with her wishes and bring an immediate resolution, but if they refuse her petition and maintain the current guardianship structure, Williams plans to ask for a jury trial where they can decide whether she is capable of self-care and managing her own finances independently.
Recently, Williams discussed the factors she thinks contributed to her being put under a conservatorship during a conversation with TMZ.
On the 2 Angry Men podcast, she disclosed her intention to visit Miami this upcoming weekend, as it’s home to several of her relatives and also to honor her father’s 94th birthday celebration there.
This journey signifies the first occasion in quite some time that she can spend quality time with her family, and it will additionally serve as a gathering with her son, Kevin Hunter Jr.

Previously, it was disclosed that Williams’ guardianship ended following a series of significant withdrawals from her account at Wells Fargo, which appeared to be unauthorized.
She asserts that her son Kevin, among others, carried out the withdrawals; however, it remains uncertain whether she believes he collaborated with these others to steal her funds.
For his part, her son has denied any wrongdoing.
In the interview for their new documentary titled ‘Saving Wendy’, Williams expressed that her son had crossed the line by misusing her funds without giving any explanations.
She mentioned that the suspected act led the bank to put a hold on her account, preventing any possible theft, yet simultaneously denying her the ability to use her own funds.
When asked about who was providing her with financial support, Williams started to tear up and stated, “My son is truly kind-hearted. He’s the one helping me financially.
‘But at this point, he is a horrible person to me,’ she continued.
Williams further claimed that there could be individuals who were interacting with her son at her Miami apartment, possibly exerting some kind of influence over him.

In conversation: She pointed out an unusual business deal where Kevin reportedly expressed interest in leasing a boat at approximately $1,500, but later rented it out for $130,000, as per Wells Fargo. However, he supposedly deflected blame towards the bank, but his mother found this defense unconvincing.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, the judge overseeing Williams case said in September 2024 that, ‘While Mr. Hunter, [her son, Kevin] apologized for past mistakes and inappropriate behavior, the court is not convinced that he can keep her safe and wouldn’t willingly or unwittingly expose her to financial exploitation.’
Williams noted that she would be seeing her son at her father’s birthday — assuming he shows up.
She mentioned that she would meet him at a specific spot, at a given location. She opted to be vague about it, not revealing much else regarding their current situation as a couple.
