Can You Believe This Global Superstar Took the Tube to His Own Sold-Out O2 Concert?
His Number 1 song You‘re Beautiful is all about a man who finds love on the London underground.
On Sunday, James Blunt had a different purpose on the subway since he was en route to his sold-out performance at the O2 Arena in Greenwich.
In a surprising move, despite boasting an estimated net worth of £15 million, the singer of “Goodbye My Lover”, who is 50 years old, secretly used the District and Jubilee lines to travel from his West London pub, The Fox and Pheasant, all the way to the arena.
Despite being near a promotional poster for his own performance, he skillfully blended into the crowd of fellow commuters and passers-by on their way to the concert, avoiding noticeable attention.
James chronicled his 37-minute trip on platform X (previously recognized as Twitter), sharing snaps of himself in a laid-back look – stonewashed jeans, a hat emblazoned with his last name subtly, and his signature aviator coat.
Just in case you’re curious, it took him 37 minutes to travel from The Fox and Pheasant pub to his performance at The O2.

The performer is commemorating two decades since the debut of Back to Bedlam by playing the entire album plus his top songs at a jam-packed arena seating 20,000 people.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, here’s my spin on those comments:
1. “I was wondering, how much time elapsed for you before reaching your destination?”
2. “Regarding the woman seated beside him, honestly, I’d be likely to faint from envy.”
It’s delightful to see the girl seated beside you is unaware of your identity. Reminds me a bit of sitting next to someone oblivious to who I am, quite fascinating!
The performance was absolutely fantastic and transported me back to 2004, when I used to play Back to Bedlam over and over again. Thoroughly enjoyed it!
‘The girl sat beside you has no idea how many of us wishing that was us’; ‘Did she smile at you?’
In 2004, James achieved widespread recognition, and since then, he skillfully juggles his music career with managing his revitalized Chelsea pub, which he saved from shutting down in 2017.
‘I’ve had plenty of pints, first as a soldier, then as a musician,’ he once shared.
Discussing his foray into the hospitality sector, he mentioned, “I’ve had all the necessary training – they prefer to have me as the dishwasher in the bar because they’re a little shy about me, but it’s fantastic to own a pub.
‘If people say where are we going tonight, I say “I own a pub, let’s go there!”
As a devoted enthusiast, I can’t help but share my awe for this incredible 107-year-old watering hole! Once known as The Fox and Unpleasant, it has undergone a transformation that’s left me absolutely smitten. If you ever find yourself in the UK, I wholeheartedly invite you to join me for a pint at this revitalized gem!

James has produced seven studio albums and written a memoir titled “Loosely Based On A Made-Up Story: A Non-Memoir”. Besides his professional accomplishments, he spends quality time with his family, which includes his wife, Sofia Wellesley, and their two unnamed sons.
The couple, who met in 2010, tied the knot in 2014.
Last October, I made a promise that if my latest album reached the top of the charts, I would officially adopt the name ‘Blunty McBluntface.’
He recently brought back his 2004 album titled “Back To Bedlam” for a fresh release, and he vowed that if the music climbs to the top, he would be willing to change his stage name to whatever the audience prefers.
As a diligent follower, I was asked by Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid about the duration I might retain the current name. In all honesty, I’m uncertain of the legal timeframe as research on this matter seems to be somewhat scant.
He advised his followers that the British people might endure embarrassment from purchasing a James album. He’s fine with coming in second place in the charts; he’d even settle for being number two.
‘I hope it doesn’t reach the top spot. If it does, my wife might decide to revert to her birth name.’
In the end, Back To Bedlam reached No. 7 in the charts.
After twenty long years, James exclaimed: ‘What a fantastic outcome! It’s a relief that I didn’t need to alter my name – it seems I’ll be known as “James Blunt” for a while longer…’
When he’s not in the UK, the 1973 singer can be found at his six-bedroom villa in Ibiza.
