eFootball 2026: A guide to perform Feints and Sombrero

We’re excited to announce the new eFootball 2026 update, version 5.4.0, is now available! While many players are looking forward to the free Epic cards, the biggest improvement is how much more enjoyable the gameplay is, particularly with the updated dribbling mechanics.

Advanced dribbling is back, with more options for fakes and maneuvers! The popular “Sombrero” or “Rainbow Flick” move – a favorite among longtime PES players that was missing in eFootball – has been reintroduced with improved controls. You can now perform this classic skill move again on mobile.

These popular moves are back in eFootball 2026, and a lot of players want to know how to do them. This guide will show you how to perform both the Feint and the Sombrero (also known as the Rainbow Flick) whether you use the Virtual Pad controls or, like me, prefer Touch and Flick.

How Feints work in eFootball 2026 mobile

Command Types

We’ve improved feints with a new control system and made them more reliable. The biggest change is the introduction of Feint Command Types, which let you use skills in three different ways.

  • Easy: Simplified inputs, most feints triggered using basic Dash commands
  • Smart: Similar to the previous system, but will be a context-based execution
  • Advanced: Full manual control, allowing you to trigger specific feints based on exact inputs

Because this is a new feature, we suggest starting with the Easy setting. However, the game will initially launch with the Smart option selected. If you prefer complete control and want the game to respond exactly as you instruct, the Advanced setting is the best choice.

Feints controls and inputs

Feints are now done by pressing Dash and moving in a direction at the same time. This means you combine skill moves with feints to make your movements more useful and effective.

Remember, your controls work based on the direction your player (or the ball) is heading. When receiving a pass, try to move your control stick in the same direction as the ball. If you don’t, the feint might not work, or your player could take a bad touch.

Double Touch Slide Dash left/right (90°), then forward Flick sideways, then forward

Scissors Feint Rotate around Dash in a forward arc Circular forward flick
Body Feint Rotate around Dash in a backward arc Circular backward flick
Chop Turn Tap Dash, then flick left/right (90°) Tap, then sideways flick
Draw and Open (L Feint) Slide Dash backward, then left/right Flick backward, then sideways

How to perform Sombrero and Flicks in eFootball 2026 Mobile

It’s great to have PES back! While moves like the Sombrero or Rainbow Flick are now a bit easier to pull off, success still relies on getting the timing and player placement right. They work most effectively when the ball is just ahead of your player or as they’re about to receive it.

Move Virtual Pad (Buttons) Touch & Flick
Rainbow Flick (Sombrero) Triple tap Dash while dribbling Tap three times quickly on movement area
Sombrero / Flick (on trap) Tap Dash before trapping, then slide in a direction Flick as the ball reaches the player
Trap Lift / Flick Hold or slide Dash during first touch Directional flick on first touch
