Wendy Williams showed off a fresh new look when she emerged in Miami on Sunday.

The elderly ex-host of the talk show was seen visiting a hair salon uncommonly, and it seemed like she opted for some blonde highlights in her lengthy tresses during that visit.

I made a surprise visit myself, down south, to join my beloved father, Thomas Williams Sr., in celebrating his remarkable milestone of turning 94 years old, surrounded by our cherished family.

Previously, Wendy mentioned that she was permitted to leave her care facility just twice within the last thirty days, specifically for dental check-ups. Given this, it appeared as if she was making the most of her opportunity by enjoying some much-needed outdoor time.

The family gathering takes place following a recent report from TMZ, which seems to provide clarity on certain aspects regarding the restrictions on her mobility at the assisted living center where she resides.

It was reported by sources that following an incident where she is said to have become intoxicated at a restaurant within the facility, she was transferred to a more confined memory care area.

The chatty queen moved effortlessly and at ease through the Aventura Mall, strolling towards the hair salon that was her destination.

The seventy-year-old maintained a fresh, vibrant appearance in a complete black outfit that included short, stylish pants and a thick black top.

The V-neck blouse she wore had a modest gap that showcased her intricately designed golden necklace with a prominent ‘W’, and she adorned herself with multiple gold bangles and rings.

Wendy covered her legs with white fishnet stockings, and she wore stylish black high-top sneakers.

Additionally, she carried a brown insulator for a bottle, specifically from Louis Vuitton, while navigating an electric scooter throughout the shopping mall.

She appeared quite cheerful during the excursion, as she was seen casually checking out various cosmetic displays and eventually having her hair styled afterwards.

On Monday, it was reported by TMZ that there might be conditions surrounding Wendy’s transfer to a stricter area within her assisted living center, which could potentially explain why she hasn’t left the building much recently.

As reported by an employee who frequently interacts with Wendy, upon her arrival, she was first assigned a room on the third floor of the building, which permits its occupants to come and go freely.

Nevertheless, her tenure took a turn for the worse from the start, as she spent an extended lunchtime at the restaurant and bar situated on the upper level of the facility.

As reported by the employee, Wendy consumed multiple alcoholic beverages and displayed signs of intoxication for quite some duration.

It’s said that the managers in charge found out about her intoxicated incident and felt frustrated because she had been served alcohol, given her history of alcohol problems.

Following the incident at lunch involving alcohol, it is said that Wendy was moved to a different room on the fifth floor of the memory unit in the building.

Since a large number of residents there have dementia and related memory problems, they can’t independently operate the elevator.

At the new place, it seems Wendy isn’t allowed to visit the restaurant for drinks, but it remains uncertain whether she must stay confined to a single floor or if she can step out under someone’s watchful eye.

Yet, an issue arose during the reallocation process because the memory unit lacked available rooms. Consequently, Wendy found herself temporarily confined to her third-floor room, with staff members stationed at the door to ensure she didn’t leave.

As reported by an informant, workers at the facility allegedly deceived the talk show host by claiming the restaurant was undergoing renovations when in reality, it seemed to be operating throughout.

Following several days, it’s said that a room became available on the fifth floor, and she was then transferred there. Ever since, she has stayed on this floor.

It’s troubling to learn about Wendy being kept under constraints and being exposed to supposed lies, given that the worker insists her memory remains intact.

‘Wendy doesn’t have good and bad days. She’s the same all the time,’ they claimed to TMZ. 

‘You can tell her something today and two weeks later she’ll remember it. Her memory is fine.’ 

As an over-the-moon fan, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I heard on Wednesday that Wendy had officially filed a petition! According to TMZ, this petition was addressed to the judge handling her guardianship case, requesting an end to the current arrangement. It feels like a dream come true for me and fellow fans!

According to the official agreement, it appears that Williams stated she is now capable of handling her own affairs independently, and she no longer needs someone appointed as her guardian.

She has a guardianship overseen by Sabrina Morrissey, which was instituted in 2022.

Despite having a few more hurdles to overcome, such as ending the guardianship, she’s not there yet. Ultimately, it’s up to her to convince the judge if she wants to regain her independence.

To clarify the matter, Williams intends to demonstrate that she is not suffering from Frontotemporal Dementia, which was a diagnosis made by doctors in the past, but that she might be misdiagnosed.

In her sworn statement, she declared that she did not have the neurological illness. Additionally, it’s been reported by TMZ that she is scheduled to visit a physician next Tuesday for a fresh assessment, hoping to corroborate this claim.

Significantly, Frontotemporal Dementia is an irreversible and progressing disorder. Thus, the ex-host of The Wendy Williams Show expresses optimism that her observed enhancement in functioning might suggest she doesn’t have the condition.

Recently, Williams engaged a new lawyer to assist in terminating the guardianship, and this legal team is also tasked with choosing the physician she will consult moving forward.

Based on the reports, her lawyer intends to submit an Urgent Request for a Hearing the day following the test results. This action aims to compel the judge to consider terminating the guardianship.

She is optimistic that the judge will concur with her wishes, swiftly concluding matters at hand. However, if the judge declines her request and maintains the current guardianship setup, Williams plans to propose that her case be brought before a jury who can decide whether she is capable of self-care and managing her own finances without the need for a guardian.

Recently, Williams discussed the factors she thinks resulted in her conservatorship, as she talked about it with TMZ.

On their 2 Angry Men podcast, she disclosed her intention to journey to Miami this weekend, as it is home to many of her relatives, in order to mark her father’s 94th birthday celebration.

This journey signifies that it’s been months since she last spent time with her family, yet it also serves as a get-together with her son, Kevin Hunter Jr.

Earlier, it became known that Williams’ guardianship ended due to a series of substantial withdrawals from her account at Wells Fargo, which appeared to have taken place without her explicit approval.

She asserts that her son Kevin and some others were responsible for the withdrawals; however, it remains uncertain if she believes he collaborated with others to steal her funds.

For his part, her son has denied any wrongdoing.

According to Williams, during an interview conducted through her window for their new documentary titled ‘Saving Wendy’, she expressed that her son had exceeded his limits. He had been making unauthorized withdrawals from her funds without keeping her informed.

She explained that the suspected activity led to her bank freezing her account, effectively preventing any possible theft, unfortunately leaving her unable to access her funds as well.

As a lifestyle expert, I found myself in a situation where someone inquired about my financial influences. Tears welled up as I responded, ‘My son, he’s an exceptional individual.’

‘But at this point, he is a horrible person to me,’ she continued.

Williams claimed there could have been others who were interacting with her son, spending time at her Miami apartment.

In conversation, it was brought up that Kevin seemed involved in a suspicious deal where he initially proposed renting a boat at approximately $1,500. However, later reports suggest the boat was rented out for $130,000. According to Wells Fargo, he attributed this discrepancy to the bank; however, his mother found this excuse questionable.

According to documents acquired by TMZ, the judge handling Williams’ case stated in September 2024 that while Kevin (her son), apologized for past mistakes and unsuitable behavior, the court remains uncertain that he can ensure her safety and may unwittingly or deliberately put her at risk of financial exploitation.

Williams noted that she would be seeing her son at her father’s birthday — assuming he shows up. 

In my own words, I plan to meet up with him at a specific spot, a designated location. I prefer to keep our rendezvous details under wraps for now. However, I’m not inclined to disclose further insights into the state of our connection at this time.
