BBC’s ‘captivating’ Margate-set drama confirms impressive cast with SAS Rogue Heroes star

The BBC has officially announced the actors set to star in the upcoming drama titled “The Dream Lands“, which is being filmed concurrently in Margate and Bristol at this time.

The show will star Connor Swindells from “SAS Rogue Heroes” and “Sex Education”, alongside Anna Friel, Katherine Parkinson, and Golda Rosheuvel of “Bridgerton”.

In addition to the main cast, Clara Rugaard, Jacob Greenway, Tareq Al-Jeddal, Scarlett Rayner, Ruby Bridle, and Raphael Sowole are also featured.

However, Pascale Kann shines in the role as Chance, a smart 17-year-old character who assumes the responsibility of protecting her family amidst their criminal lifestyle.

In the year 2039, the stage is set with temperatures soaring, seas rising, and tensions running high – much more severe compared to our current conditions. The town of Margate, once vibrant, finds itself revitalized in this dystopian future as part of a government initiative aimed at rejuvenating its coastal charm, offering new life to the once bustling town.

Yet, once Chance becomes involved with Franky – a woman connected to the establishment – she discovers the real facts about the circumstances.

According to the book “Dreamland” written by Rosa Rankin-Gee, the television version of this story has been written by Kayleigh Llewellyn, who is also known for writing “Killing Eve”. The directors for this series are Erika Calmeyer from “Young Royals” and Myriam Raja from “Top Boy”.

As a gamer, I can’t help but be utterly amazed at this top-notch team that’s been assembled, skillfully orchestrated by our casting director, Rachel Sheridan, like a masterful game strategist assembling their dream squad.

We’re absolutely thrilled to collaborate with a versatile ensemble, comprising budding talents who show great promise for the future and esteemed veterans taking on fresh, uncharted roles in this project.

I’m delighted to witness this world being breathed into existence by such an exceptional ensemble of actors and two visionary directors, Erika Calmeyer and Myriam Raja.

As the gamer immersed in this virtual world, it’s no wonder that Kayleigh’s emotionally resonant and spellbinding storylines have managed to gather such a talented ensemble, blending fresh faces with familiar ones cherished by BBC viewers. I can hardly contain my excitement to witness them breathe life into the captivating realm of The Dream Lands.
