Saoirse Ronan’s Secret Guilty Pleasure Exposed
As an ardent admirer, let me share that four-time Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan graced the BAFTAs red carpet in a bespoke Louis Vuitton gown last Sunday, yet it seems we share a clandestine passion behind those doors. Just like approximately two million Aussies, this actress indulges in the same secret delight that I cherish too!
In an interview with W magazine, the American-turned-Irish celebrity openly declared that Married At First Sight Australia is unquestionably her preferred reality TV series.
She remarked, “The Australians are quite lively, as they put it themselves. They have a unique energy that sets them apart.
‘I skipped the American version and the one in the UK. I’ve gone straight to Australia.’
18 seasons of American Married at First Sight, nine seasons of British Married at First Sight, and right now, the 12th season of Australian Married at First Sight is being shown on TV.
Despite airing in six distinct countries, it’s the Australian version of MAFS that has garnered attention from celebrity fans like Lindsay Lohan and Sam Smith. This is largely due to its thrilling drama and countless unexpected turns.

In a conversation with an interviewer from W Magazine (USA), who appeared not fully acquainted with the show, the lead actor from Normal People was questioned whether any on-screen television couples remain in a relationship post-series.
‘Yeah!’ Saorise, 30, answered. ‘None of them do.’
In the show I’m currently viewing, it seems none of the couples will last. However, there’s one exception – they are still together.
They paired up with various individuals, and subsequently, they began exchanging messages privately, unbeknownst to one another.
Supporters speculate that Saoirse might be addressing the controversial couple from season 11, Jono McCullough and Ellie Dix. They recently marked their first year together and bought a house in Burleigh Heads last November.
Last year, Jono and Ellie stirred up a scandal on Married at First Sight. Their secret affair, which took place during Jono’s marriage to Lauren Dunn, became public knowledge, causing quite the stir.
Saoirse, known for working with Paul Mescal in two films shot in Australia and having mingled with numerous high-profile stars throughout her illustrious career, shared that encountering the cast of Married at First Sight (MAFS) had been a cherished ambition.
‘If I met someone from Married At First Sight Australia, I would die,’ she said excitedly.
‘No, they’re too hectic. We’re not hectic enough for them.’

Dating consultant Mel Schilling, who appears on both British and Australian editions of the dating series, has pointed out that there’s often a noticeable gap in the speed at which contestants from Australia and the UK reveal their emotions.
Mel noted that UK participants often tend to hide their genuine emotions initially, taking more time to do so compared to others, consequently.
On a Sunday, Saoirse and her seldom-spotted spouse Jack Lowden graced the red carpet side by side at the 2025 BAFTA Awards held at Royal Festival Hall, London.
In a notable recognition, she was put forward for the category of Best Leading Actress, competing against other renowned performers such as Cynthia Ervio (for her role in Wicket) and Demi Moore (for her performance in Substance), all for their respective roles. Her character as Rona in The Outrun earned her this prestigious nomination.
Jack accessorized his wife’s dress beautifully by wearing a sleek black Dior tuxedo and a crisp white shirt, completing his formal ensemble with a dashing black bow tie on the red carpet.
Last year, an actress who played in “Little Women” and a Scottish actor exchanged vows discreetly in a ceremony held in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Approximately 2.53 million Australians watched Married at First Sight (MAFS) on Sunday, while over 2 million viewers tuned in every night from Monday to Thursday. This popular reality show has maintained its lead in television viewership for Channel Nine, continuing to captivate the nation.
