Guy Pearce and Ex-Girlfriend Carice van Houten Reunite at BAFTA 2025 Awards: A Surprising Twist

Guy Pearce and Game Of Thrones star Carice van Houten announced their split last month.

At the BAFTA 2025 Awards on Sunday, it was clear that their past relationship is amicable once more, as they were seen together again.

Aussie actor Guy and Dutch actress Carice were all smiles as they posed together on the red carpet.

At the awards ceremony, Carice displayed her distinctive fashion flair by wearing a dress with an intriguing color scheme – one half was adorned in pink, while the other showcased green hues.

She completed her look with a black belt and left her long brunette locks out for the occasion.

As I gracefully donned a stylish velvet blue tuxedo, complemented by a matching blue button-down shirt and sleek black bowtie, I found myself comfortably linking arms with my former girlfriend at the event.

Just last month, Carice disclosed on her Instagram that she and Guy have been separated for several years.

The couple share one son, Monte, nine.

She started off by saying, “Typically, I prefer to keep my personal matters private, but given the various speculations about my relationship with Guy that have been circulating lately in the media, I felt it was important to set the record straight.

‘He and I are great friends and love each other very much, but we haven’t been a couple for years.

I’m pleased to share that we’re part of a truly special bond, nurturing the love of our existence – our wonderful son and his beloved hamster. It’s a joyful journey indeed.

Guy and Carice started dating a few months after he split from ex-wife Kate Mestitz in 2015.

They welcomed their son Monte into the world in 2016.

Speculation about a possible separation arose after the Australian actor openly declared that his former wife Kate was his “most profound love.

In an interview with The Guardian in January, he shared that his former spouse, Kate, was the most profound love he had ever known. However, he has since moved forward and revealed that his current deepest love is for his son, Monte.

2018 saw Guy openly discussing how the end of his 18-year marriage with Kate triggered thoughts of suicide.

He acknowledged that Carice and their son were instrumental in helping him get through a particularly difficult time in his life.

In the album’s liner notes, the actor from L.A. Confidential penned a touching homage to his loved ones for The Nomad.

On his site, Guy shared insights about his album titled ‘The Nomad. This project was deeply personal and emotionally raw for me, stemming from the end of my marriage in early 2015.

He expressed various appreciation notes, one of which said: “To my dear family and trusted friends – I am deeply grateful for the unwavering support you’ve given me during this difficult phase of my life. I hold each of you in great affection.

Although it occasionally touches on sadness, it also offers a uplifting perspective – that ray of hope or silver lining – which is crucial in our lives.

However, his biggest thanks went to his wife and child.

He expressed gratitude especially to Carice van Houten and their dear son Monte: ‘Thank you immensely! Your presence in our lives, which coincided with this project, has been nothing short of transformative, making it a more beautiful journey for me.’

Originally, the gentleman mentioned that his upcoming album might appropriately be titled “The Catharsis,” since he began composing its songs following prolonged periods of tears.

18 years ago, Guy disclosed during an interview with Andrew Denton that it was his former spouse, Kate, who chose to bring their 18-year union to an end.

He shared that it left him devastated when the public referred to him as a cruel person because they believed he abandoned his wife for Carice, when in reality, their relationship began long after his separation.

The actor who played Priscilla, Queen of the Desert confessed that he was taken aback when Kate unexpectedly ended their relationship, yet he continues to hold affection and respect for his former spouse.

Previously, Carice, known for her role as Melisandre in Game of Thrones, had been connected with her fellow actor from The Black Book, Sebastian Koch.

The pair began dating in 2005 but called time on their romance in March 2010.
