BAFTA 2025: Mikey Madison Stuns in Ivory Dress

On Sunday at the BAFTAs, Mikey Madison looked utterly stylish and elegant in a stunning, strapless ivory gown.

The young actress from Anora, aged 25, who’s up for the Best Leading Actress accolade due to her remarkable performance, exuded elegance and glamour while walking the red carpet.

She paired her floor-length gown with an elegant silk scarf that she let hang from her arms.

Adding inches to her petite frame, Mikey slipped into a pair of classic nude slingback heels.

Mikey upped the glamour of her ensemble and finished her glitzy look with a large diamond necklace.

The attractive brunette is up against strong contenders for the BAFTA prize, including Marisa, Jharrel Jerome (from Unstoppable), David Jonsson (Alien: Romulus), and Nabhaan Rizwan (In Camera).

In a different setting, Anora observes Ani (Mikey), a youthful escort originally hailing from Brooklyn, unexpectedly tie the knot with a young man whose father is a prominent Russian business tycoon.

Upon hearing the news, I find myself bracing for potential challenges, as my parents embark on their journey to New York with the intention of annulling our marriage, a tale we had once spun as a fairy story in Russia.

For the unmissable evening ahead at the 2025 EE BAFTA Awards, we gather once more to honor the outstanding films of the year and the brilliant artists who breathe life into them on screen.

For six years, the grand event filled with celebrities was hosted at the Royal Albert Hall. In 2023, however, it found a new location, settling into the Royal Festival Hall of the Southbank Centre, where it will resume its annual occurrence.

The EE BAFTA Film Awards encompass 25 competitive categories which are decided by BAFTA members.

The performance will introduce thrilling fresh developments, such as the introduction of a Children’s & Family Film segment, honoring exceptional movies that appeal to diverse age groups.

The newly introduced category will make its debut after a gap of five years, which also signifies that it’s been five years since the last EE BAFTA Film Award was introduced.

A fresh change has been implemented in the Outstanding British Film category, now featuring a revised method for voting.

In the Thriller Conclave, a total of 12 nominations were achieved across all categories, making it the most nominated production. Emilia Perez followed closely with 11 nominations, and The Brutalist secured 9.

Returning home after its LA Golden Globe nominations, Conclave has doubled its recognition at this year’s British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs) compared to its previous tally.

A gripping mystery revolves around the clandestine selection of a new Pope in this popular thriller featuring Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, and Isabella Rossellini. Intrigue unfolds as power, ambition, and hidden agendas intersect among rival cardinals, creating a tense atmosphere.

The contender has surpassed the runner-up at the Golden Globes, the Spanish drama “Emilia Perez,” which garnered 11 BAFTA nominations following its collection of 10 awards at the U.S. award event.

As a die-hard admirer, I can’t help but feel disheartened once more as Gladiator 2 has been overlooked yet again by the esteemed judges in award ceremonies. This time, it was snubbed for the prestigious title of Best Film, and unfortunately, our beloved Irish star, Paul Mescal, age 28, didn’t make the BAFTA longlist for Best Actor. I firmly believe that his remarkable performance truly deserves recognition!

62-year-old Demi Moore, who recently received my first acting award at the Globes for her incredible performance in Substance, has now been nominated for Lead Actress! I’m absolutely thrilled to see her on the list alongside Wicked’s captivating Cynthia Erivo and the brilliant Saoirse Ronan, both 38 and 30 respectively, for the Outrun award. This is truly a remarkable accomplishment and I can hardly wait to see who takes home the prize!

Movie business experts predict that the Ghost actress’ inclusion on the BAFTA shortlist significantly boosts her chances of earning her first Academy Award.

In other BAFTA nominations, actors Jeremy Strong and Kieran Culkin from Succession are set to compete against each other for the category of Best Supporting Actor. Their respective roles in A Real Pain and the film about Donald Trump titled The Apprentice have earned them this recognition.

In the BAFTA nominations, Jeremy Strong and Kieran Culkin from Succession are going head-to-head for the title of Best Supporting Actor. Their performances in A Real Pain and the movie about Donald Trump called The Apprentice have secured them this opportunity.

Simultaneously, Adrien Brody’s movie “The Brutalist” garnered nine BAFTA nominations, while both “Dune 2” and “Wicked” received seven each.

In the EE BAFTA Rising Star Awards of 2024, Marisa Abela is at the forefront of the nominees, recognized for her exceptional acting role as Amy Winehouse in the movie “Back To Black.

The list unveiled on Tuesday includes Marisa, Jharrel Jerome (a standout from Unstoppable), David Jonsson (from Alien: Romulus), Mikey Madison (known for Anora), and Nabhaan Rizwan (featured in In Camera) as the finalists.

Coincidentally, David, Nabhaan and Marisa were all stars of BBC drama Industry.

Sara Putt, the head of BAFTA, expressed to the Press Association news agency that this year’s BAFTA nomination list showcases a ‘simply outstanding diversity’.

she noted: “Additionally, if you examine the top ten movies for best film, I believe you will find that they span across six distinct movie genres.

In a variety of genres, from science fiction to comedy, horror, drama, and musicals, it’s quite remarkable that titles like ‘Nosferatu’, ‘The Substance’, and ‘Heretic’ are all being recognized for nominations.

Did you notice the variety in this film collection? It spans genres from ‘Wicked’ to ‘Kneecap,’ offering a wide range and richness that makes it truly captivating.

Winning this accolade is often viewed as a stepping stone towards achieving top-tier stardom, with past recipients such as Tom Holland, James McAvoy, Tom Hardy, Lashana Lynch, and Kristen Stewart on the list.

David Tennant will take to the stage to host the BAFTAs for a second year in a row.

The actor, 53, first hosted the awards show last year, taking over from Richard E Grant.

Without a doubt, he’s expected to showcase his charm and wit after receiving a tremendous response from his highly praised debut, which was viewed by more than 3.8 million viewers at home.

Over 20 million times, the ceremony highlights were viewed by fans as they stayed updated via social media platforms.

As a devoted admirer, I’d typically anticipate seeing Prince William, BAFTA’s president, gracefully striding down the red carpet with his partner Catherine by his side. However, this year, it seems that the enchanting duo of Wales won’t be in attendance at the ceremony.

Last year, Kate didn’t attend the awards; this was announced weeks later in a video message dated March 22nd, where she shared that she was battling cancer. On the other hand, Prince William made his way down the red carpet unaccompanied at the Baftas.

The 2025 EE Bafta Film Awards will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 7pm on Sunday February 16.
