Rupert Grint and Nick Frost’s forgotten series branded “silly” is trending on Netflix
Rupert Grint and Nick Frost’s forgotten comedy series Sick Note is now trending on Netflix.
First aired on Sky TV back in 2017, the series “Sick Note” features Grint playing the character Daniel Glass, a habitual liar struggling with a stagnant love life and unfulfilling work situation.
Yet, when Daniel was incorrectly diagnosed as having terminal esophageal cancer by oncologist Dr. Iain Glennis (Frost), he started observing that people were treating him more kindly than usual. In response, he chose to maintain this falsehood.
Alongside Lindsay Lohan, we find actors like Don Johnson from “Miami Vice”, Pippa Bennett-Warner known for “Gangs of London”, and Karl Theobald, best recognized from “Green Wing”.
This week, the show got added to Netflix and it’s been consistently ranking among the UK’s top ten most popular shows since then.
Although it was well-received by viewers on the streaming service, the TV series Sick Note received a mix of positive and negative feedback when it initially premiered.
Some people labeled it as “foolish” and “underwhelming,” but others found it “amusing,” “laugh-out-loud funny,” and packed with “charming” acting performances.
In the near future, Grint will be featured in the upcoming thriller “Nightborn,” directed by Hanna Bergholm. This movie was filmed in Lithuania towards the end of 2020, according to Screen Daily.
In this movie, Seidi Haarla takes on the role of Saga, while Grint portrays her British spouse, Jon. Together, they relocate to a secluded home nestled within the heart of the Finnish woods, aspiring to build a picture-perfect family in tranquil surroundings.
Nevertheless, as their child arrives, Saga finds herself questioning a troubling reality concerning the newborn, even with Jon’s and others’ attempts to allay her fears.
Recently, I had the pleasure of watching the latest cinematic masterpiece, “Get Away,” penned, directed, and starring none other than the brilliant talent, Frost, on Sky Cinema. What a captivating experience it was!
In this movie, Richard (Frost) and Susan (Aisling Bea) decide to bring their kids Sam (Sebastian Croft) and Jessie (Maisie Ayres) on a vacation to a secluded Swedish island. However, they uncover that the tranquil island is actually home to a ruthless killer.
Sick Note is available to watch now on Netflix.
