Sam Nivola’s Rise to Fame: From Nepo Baby to White Lotus Stardom

Born into a family of notable actors – Emily Mortimer from England and Alessandro Nivola from America – it’s no surprise that Sam Nivola has a promising career ahead.

At the tender age of nine, Sam, now 21 years old, first stepped into the world of acting in the year 2013. This was on the HBO series titled Doll & Em, and he portrayed the character Ariel, sharing the screen with his very own mother.

Due to his current leading part in the eagerly awaited third season of White Lotus, Sam is poised for stardom.

Beyond just his family, there’s also a Hollywood tie for him, given that he’s in a relationship with another “nepotism baby” named Iris Apatow, who happens to be 22 years old.

In the first-person perspective: I couldn’t help but feel the blissful glow of love as my partner and I graced the red carpet together at the White Lotus premiere on Monday. Last year, when my beloved was filming the HBO series in Thailand, I was fortunate enough to be by his side, sharing the experience with him.

In his youth, Sam transitioned from living in Notting Hill, London, to residing in Brooklyn, New York, following a spell of early childhood there. Later, he relocated from Britain to the United States.

At Saint Ann’s School in Brooklyn, he was enrolled, with annual tuition ranging from $48,000 to $52,000. Later, he secured admission to esteemed Columbia University.

In the year 2021, Sam made a comeback to acting, sharing the screen with his sister May in the BBC One romantic series titled “The Pursuit of Love.” Notably, this series was both written for and produced by their mother, Emily.

The siblings again played opposite each other in Noah Baumbach’s 2022 film White Noise. 

I couldn’t contain my excitement as I watched Sam bring Heinrich to life and May breathe life into Steffie during the screen adaptation of Don DeLillo’s 1985 novel. This captivating performance was the opening act at the Venice Film Festival that year, and it left me utterly spellbound!

While we were working on it, White Noise’s director, Noah, mentioned that he had long-standing relationships with Emily Mortimer and Alessandro Nivola, and held them in high esteem.

We searched high and low for suitable children actors, sifting through countless auditions and callbacks. Time and again, it was the Nivola siblings who rose to the top. They truly excelled in every performance.

In the previous year, Sam once more shone brightly as a leading character in the Netflix show titled The Perfect Couple. His portrayal was that of the youngest Winbury brother named Will.

On Sunday, Sam plans to arrive at the White Lotus resort in Thailand for the third installment of the widely acclaimed HBO television series.

The star has found love with another nepo baby, daughter of Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann, Iris.

For the past two years, I’ve been fortunate enough to be in a relationship, but it wasn’t until April last year that my partner made her debut on my Instagram. This happened when I posted pictures of us together on a yacht with my White Lotus co-star, Patrick Schwarzenegger. She had flown out to visit me during the filming of our show.

He titled the initial photo of her as ‘The Pookinator is blazing hot tonight.’

According to People’s interview, it was disclosed by Sam that Iris accompanied him during his stay in Thailand to provide him companionship throughout the filming process.

He said: ‘I brought my girlfriend for a few months, which was amazing.

1. “I was really delighted to enjoy some comforts of home as it was quite far away, and it was thoughtful of her to give up her time to visit me. I’m truly thankful for her kindness.”

2. “Being so distant from home, tasting a bit of it again was wonderful. It meant a lot that she took the time out to be with me, and I can’t express enough gratitude towards her.”

3. “It felt fantastic to get a taste of home, as it was 10,000 miles away, and it was really kind of her to travel all that way just to see me. I owe her an immense debt of gratitude.”

4. “I savored the familiar flavors of home, knowing how far away it was, and it meant a lot that she decided to make the trip to spend time with me. She deserves nothing but thanks for her thoughtfulness.”

5. “Tasting a bit of home, being so far from it, really made my day. It was incredibly generous of her to travel such a distance just to visit me. I can’t thank her enough for that gesture.”

However, Sam argues that he’s different from typical “nepo babies,” stating in a recent interview with Vogue: “My parents aren’t well-known celebrities who are recognized on the streets.

In a conversation with Vogue, Sam playfully quipped that his group of famous friends born into showbiz families resemble a clandestine group of privileged individuals who often gather in dark academic gowns, which he humorously referred to as the “secret society of nepo kids.

In September, Sam spoke enthusiastically about his part in The White Lotus and praised its creator when he talked to him directly.

Mike White, the talented writer and filmmaker, left me feeling incredibly secure and at ease,” he expressed.

This project represents the largest role and production I’ve encountered to date. We filmed it for seven months in Thailand, isolating me completely from the outside world, which was quite terrifying. However, on a creative level, I found immense satisfaction in portraying a character substantial enough to fully immerse myself.
