Chrissy Teigen and John Legend Sing to Penny’s Ashes in Heartwarming Valentine’s Day Video
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend honored their dearly departed dog, Penny, in a touching Valentine’s Day video.
For quite some time, this pair – who graced the Grammy stage this past month – crooned a harmonious rendition of the ’60s classic “L-O-V-E” by Nat King Cole in different scenes, sweetly dedicating it to all their cherished pets in an Instagram video.
At a poignant instant, John gently cradled Penny’s remains in the urn, while the pair harmoniously sung their eyes fixed on it. Later, in another tender scene, Chrissy stooped to bestow a loving kiss upon the urn.
It was a heartfelt tribute to Penny, who died in her sleep in January.
In each segment, John, aged 46, consistently sported a single shade of salmon, whereas Chrissy, at 39, varied her appearances.
She modeled red bunny ears, a matching satin bra, plus gloves during one part.

Furthermore, the mother of four put on a shimmering pink cowboy hat paired with a matching magenta outfit while relaxing on their living room couch at home.
Later on, Teigen maintained her playful mood by donning a pair of pink bunny ears and a costume adorned with feathers.
I donned a charming pink hooded robe adorned with delicate feathers as I captivated our pet gecko during my performance.
In her final outfit for the recording, she donned a striking mini red velvet dress with long sleeves, accessorized by an extravagant feathered hat.
In a post seen by 57 million followers, the cookbook author admitted that the video montage they shared featured them singing in varying pitches.
She wrote in the caption, ‘Now I understand John’s annoyance with the key changes, laughing out loud! Happy Valentine’s Day to all you lovebirds!!!’
At the conclusion of the montage, bloopers were shown revealing that the artist behind “All Of Me” appeared worried about the discordant tones.
He commented on the post, saying that listening to the completed work was really difficult for him.
The former The Voice coach lamented, ‘I needed my pitch pipe from my a cappella days.’
Penny passed away suddenly at the age of 11.
At the start of January, the model announced heartbreaking news by sharing a touching tribute along with some charming photographs of her dog, showcasing his lively spirit.
‘Today, our cherished tripod dog, Penny, peacefully left us in her sleep. She was born on the very day John and I tied the knot, eleven years ago, a constant companion through all our babies, heartaches, triumphs, and joys.’
She went on saying: ‘Her greatest joy was feeling loved, enjoying gentle petting, and playing with balls until the very end of her life.’
In a kindly manner, the author of the cookbook subtly reminded her audience that even though each dog represents only a small part of our extensive lives, to them, we are their whole story, their entire existence.
Gosh, Penny! What a stroke of fortune it was to have you with us. Give my regards to Puddy and Pippa, won’t you? It’s wonderful that you’re all reunited,” she finished off.
In the initial photo, she’s captured with a smile, seated on the ground close to Penny, who was comfortably positioned on the sofa overhead.
In the subsequent images, I, as a loyal observer, present you with one where Penny is seen gripping a tennis ball in her jaws, and another heartwarming scene featuring Penny alongside her and Legend’s six-year-old son, Miles.
She also included a selfie of her next to Legend as Penny snuggled up between them.
Under Teigen’s post, Legend commented: ‘I loved this girl. We will miss you, Penny.’
For their tenth wedding anniversary in September 2023, the devoted couple who’ve been together for a long time will be celebrating by renewing their marriage vows. They reside in a bustling household, filled with the company of four kids and an assortment of beloved pets.
At least three dogs appeared in their Valentine’s Day post, as well as a tiny yellow gecko.
They are parents to daughters Luna, eight, Esti, two, and sons Miles, six, and Wren, 20 months.
2020 saw Chrissy endure the painful experience of losing her unborn child, whom they affectionately named Jack, during the 20th week of pregnancy.
