DRX vs Sentinels Match Preview

DRX underwent one personnel adjustment earlier this year, welcoming BeYn to the team. Compared to the previous DRX roster, which depended heavily on established strategies and individual skills, the current lineup features several fresh faces. In the Pacific Kickoff tournament, DRX didn’t drop a single series, demonstrating their competitive prowess. Their matches against T1 esports were not surprising given T1’s strength as a team. However, they managed to outperform T1 in both the Upper bracket final and the Grand Finals, earning them a spot at the VCT Masters Bangkok.

As a gamer, in our recent face-off with Nongshim RedForce, the series stretched to its maximum length, with our Japanese team holding a commanding lead on the Pearl map. However, it appears that Pearl might be our Achilles’ heel, as during the Spotlight Series, we suffered a 7-13 defeat against Xipto X Global when playing on Pearl.

In the VCT Americas kickoff upper bracket, Sentinels followed a nearly identical path to other teams. They started strong, beating both 100 Thieves and LOUD, but stumbled against G2 esports, losing 0-2 which sent them into the lower bracket. There, they triumphed over MIBR with a score of 3-1. In their rematch against G2 esports during the Grand Finals, they displayed a significantly improved performance. The final series went all five maps, but Sentinels ended up losing on Haven in the end.

In this initial encounter between Sentinels and DRX, we’ll witness a collision of strategies, with Sentinels exhibiting a more assertive approach that could be described as daring, while DRX is currently refining its teamwork following recent roster adjustments. Although DRX’s performance has been improving, it appears they may have the edge due to their accumulated momentum. Regardless, for VALORANT enthusiasts, this promising match on the opening day promises to be a thrilling spectacle featuring two titans of the game.
