Wendy Williams Makes Rare Public Appearance Amid Guardianship Battle

Wendy Williams was spotted in Miami following a trip from New York, where she visited her father for his 94th birthday celebration. This outing occurred during her ongoing efforts to terminate her guardianship.

On a Saturday, the 60-year-old media figure seemed cheerful as she landed at the airport, en route to see her father, Thomas Dwayne Williams.

Upon arriving in Florida, the star beamed a radiant grin as they navigated the airport on a scooter.

The well-recognized TV host, famously associated with her hit talk show The Wendy Williams Show, had help from her supportive staff members during that time.

While navigating the airport, it was noticeable that Williams was joking and conversing with her aides and security personnel.

Shortly following her disclosure, it was reported that she had left home just two times within the past 30 days, under her caretaker’s supervision.

While on an excursion, Williams was spotted making a phone call prior to dismounting the scooter, which she did with assistance from her security guard.

To add a touch of elegance, she paired her outfit with a striking ‘W’ necklace, where her initial was embellished with sparkling diamonds.

She also stacked several gold bangle bracelets and wore a dazzling diamond ring. 

Upon leaving the airport, she was holding a Hermes Birkin bag with a crocodile pattern design as she stepped towards her waiting vehicle.

Additionally, she was carrying a Louis Vuitton holdall bag and a houndstooth-style overcoat, which her security escort held for her.

In the past month, it’s been disclosed that Williams has stepped out of her care facility on just two occasions.

In the year 2022, it was decided by the court that Williams should take on the role of guardian, due to claims of her being diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and primary progressive aphasia.

Previously, it was disclosed that she had been diagnosed with a particular condition. Nonetheless, Williams firmly denies having dementia.

This past week, reports from TMZ emerged stating that Williams is endeavoring to terminate her guardianship. She has formally requested a judge to do so by signing an affidavit.

Since the year 2022, Sabrina Morrissey, who was appointed by a court order, has been managing her (person’s) health and financial affairs.

A source revealed to the media that she is scheduled for an evaluation by a doctor chosen by her lawyers on Tuesday, to ascertain if she can now manage independently again, without needing a guardian.

It’s been mentioned that insiders have shared with the source that her personal lawyers, whom she recently hired to terminate her guardianship following the dismissal of her court-assigned attorney last month, are planning to file an urgent petition asking a judge to investigate and potentially end the guardianship.

‘I feel like I’m in prison. I’m definitely isolated,’ she said.
