Amanda Holden’s Instagram Ad for BundleBerry Gets Her in Trouble with BBC!

Wearing a jumpsuit and carrying an electric drill, Amanda Holden demonstrates her ability to revitalize dilapidated structures on the popular BBC series “Amanda & Alan’s Spanish Job.

However, the celebrity found herself in a predicament with the broadcasting company, as she promoted her upcoming show on competitor channel QVC while donning the identical “Handy Mandy” attire from the renovation program, which is airing on their rival network.

On February 3, the presenter (who is 53 years old) shared a 30-second video on her Instagram account. In this video, she announced that she would be appearing on a shopping channel later in the day to promote new items from her interior design line, BundleBerry.

Equipped with a toolkit and a drill, she takes measurements on the walls before affixing mirrors – replicating the home improvement tasks seen in the series – all while grooving to the tunes of the iconic 80s program, The A-Team.

Her BBC co-star, comedian Alan Carr, commented on the video: ‘I recognise that boilersuit.’

However, Ms. Holden, a judge on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent, had to take down her post on Friday as BBC officials deemed it violated their commercial regulations.

The presenter seems to have been reminded about the rule that prohibits them from appearing in ads connected to their television jobs.

In my commitment to the corporation, I understand that as an actor or artist involved in BBC content, I’m expected to steer clear of portraying roles similar to those I play on BBC platforms in any promotional activities, such as advertisements. This ensures a clear distinction between my on-screen persona and off-screen work for the BBC.

Ms Holden – who launched her BundleBerry range in 2017 – labelled the post as an ‘ad’.

Continue with the process or task after receiving previous directions or guidelines.

In this context, it means to carry out the actions that are required or suggested based on the instructions given earlier. In this case, since the original sentence mentions a “faux pas” (a mistake) made by Nick Knowles in an advertisement for breakfast cereal Shreddies in 2022, the follow-up could involve discussing what happened after that mistake or examining its impact on Nick Knowles’ career or reputation.

62-year-old Knowles was excluded from a special version of DIY SOS and subsequently replaced by comedian Rhod Gilbert in a comedy sketch inspired by the show for Comic Relief.

As an over-the-moon fan, I’d like to share that I’ve taken note of the reminder Amanda received from the BBC. They kindly explained that, in my role as a presenter for them, it’s crucial to remember my responsibilities while navigating the social media landscape.

They refused to comment on whether she could face similar sanctions to Knowles.
