Perez Hilton announced he’s recovering well after a recent, life-threatening battle with sepsis in the hospital.

The 48-year-old celebrity blogger, who recently spent 21 days in the hospital due to an ulcer caused by taking flu medication on an empty stomach, recently underwent surgery. Doctors discovered a dangerous blood clot in his leg, requiring the procedure.

I’m so happy to share some really uplifting news! After being stuck in bed for weeks, I’m finally back on my feet! I was able to share a video on Instagram of me using a walker, and honestly, it feels amazing to be able to walk again!

Oh my gosh, he posted an update! He said the pain is still there, but he’s actually doing better and called it ‘bold but manageable’! And he thanked God for letting him recover. It’s just…amazing to see him fighting through this and sharing even little things like that. I’m so relieved!

‘Glory be to God!’ he added, before seemingly getting emotional toward the end of the video.

Just a few days after a 21-day hospital stay for a serious infection (sepsis), he was readmitted to the hospital with a blood clot in his right leg, he explained in a long social media post.

On Friday, my heart surgeon successfully removed a very large, completely blocked blood clot that stretched from my groin to just below my calf.

Shortly after my surgery to remove the blood clot, my doctor came to see me and encouraged me to start walking. He explained he was concerned about new clots forming and us facing the same issue again, he continued.

I was in terrible pain while trying to walk. I had to cancel my Easter plans because I was discharged from the hospital on Saturday and was still suffering so much.

I’m so grateful to be able to walk again, even if it’s slowly. The pain is still strong, but I’m managing it without any medication. Thank goodness!

He finished writing his caption, ending with a hopeful message: ‘Each day will be a little better, and I’ll keep getting stronger! That’s what I believe!’

Hilton faced the fresh health crisis just days after nearly dying in hospital from sepsis.

Last week, Paris Hilton shared an update from the hospital on Instagram. She explained that they detected a problem early on, and she saw a surgeon who was able to address it quickly. She mentioned experiencing increasing soreness and pain in one of her legs the night before.

‘This morning, it was way worse. I couldn’t even walk I had to use my walker.’

An ultrasound showed that Paris Hilton had a blood clot in a deep vein. She shared that she was grateful it was discovered quickly, explaining that if the clot had traveled to her lungs or heart, it could have been very serious.

Hilton made it successfully through his surgery, and posted an update declaring ‘God is so good.’

He reported that his thrombectomy surgery went smoothly this morning, saying it was quick and he didn’t feel any pain because he was asleep during the procedure. He also mentioned he’s already feeling much improved.

You wouldn’t believe what the surgical team showed me – the blood clot they removed was massive! It completely blocked an artery, starting in my groin and extending almost to my calf. Honestly, it’s incredible! I’m so relieved and thrilled to be going home tomorrow pain-free. Just yesterday, I could barely move and needed a walker to get around. Today is all about resting up and recovering!

Let me tell you, health is everything, and I learned that the hard way recently. I came down with the flu and was diligent about taking my medication, but I made a huge mistake – I didn’t take it with food. That seemingly small oversight led to a really scary chain of events. First, an ulcer developed, then it perforated, and ultimately, I ended up with sepsis. Sepsis is incredibly dangerous – it can actually be fatal. Trust me, always follow medication instructions carefully and don’t skip taking it with food if you’re supposed to! It’s just not worth the risk.

He experienced severe stomach pain and was unable to walk, requiring an ambulance to take him to the emergency room.

Hilton first became known for his celebrity gossip blog, which he started in 2004 as PageSixSixSix.com. He quickly renamed it PerezHilton.com.
