Watch Reese Witherspoon cast young Elle Woods for Legally Blonde prequel in emotional video

Reese Witherspoon has revealed the actress chosen to portray Elle Woods in the forthcoming Legally Blonde prequel television show.

Last year, it became known that Reese Witherspoon and her production company, Hello Sunshine, have taken on a new TV series project based on the popular movie series from the early 2000s. This series follows the character Elle Woods, played by Witherspoon, who transforms from a sorority girl into a lawyer.

In an excited post on Instagram, I (Reese Witherspoon) revealed some heartfelt news to Lexi Minetree – she’s been cast as young Elle in our upcoming project! Here’s a sneak peek at her emotional reaction.

She titled the video, “Here’s your introduction to the latest Elle Woods!” After observing numerous outstanding auditions for the new Elle prequel series on @PrimeVideo, we’ve finally found our Elle. The exciting news I got to share personally is who she is: meet @leximinetree!

In the video, Witherspoon speaks with the young actress and says: “I wanted to let you know that your audition tape was outstanding, as discussed earlier. Unfortunately, we faced a difficult choice recently, and I felt it was important to share this news with you personally since you’ve put in so much effort. You deserve to hear it directly from me.

Hey there! Just dropping a quick line to share some exciting news – turns out, I didn’t need an audition after all! Guess who’s going to be stepping into the iconic role of Elle Woods? Yup, you guessed it – that’s right, it’s me! 😄

Following some excited shouts and tears of happiness from Minetree, Witherspoon said, “For the past three nights, I haven’t managed to sleep. I wished to share this news with you earlier.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled about the upcoming Prime Video series titled “Elle”! This prequel will delve into the high school years of our beloved protagonist, revealing the pivotal experiences that shaped her into the unforgettable young woman we encountered in the 2001 movie “Legally Blonde” and its sequel, “Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde.” I can’t wait to revisit Elle’s journey and see how it all began!

For quite some time now, there have been plans brewing for a new “Legally Blonde” movie, this time penned by Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor.

Back in 2018, I got excited about a fascinating project that was set to launch in May 2022 initially. However, much to my disappointment, the release has been postponed indefinitely.

Elle doesn’t have a release date yet.
