Sabrina Carpenter and Dolly Parton Steal the Show in Epic Thelma & Louise Music Video!

On Thursday evening, Sabrina Carpenter ignited excitement among fans as she unveiled the official music video for the revamped version of her popular track ‘Please Please Please’, which now features the legendary Dolly Parton.

In a nearly four-minute long video, you’ll find the Espresso artist, who is 25 years old, teaming up with the 79-year-old country icon, reenacting a Thelma & Louise-style narrative.

As an over-the-moon admirer, I can hardly contain my excitement! The one and only Carpenter, freshly adorned as Vogue’s latest cover star, has declared that Dolly Parton is none other than one of my all-time idols! In a thrilling Instagram announcement, she revealed the imminent release of both the video and song – simultaneously! Oh, the anticipation!

Dolly and I were singing together in a pickup truck, and I’m absolutely thrilled! It’s such an honor to collaborate with one of my musical heroes on a song that holds deep meaning for me,” enthused the singer.

The updated version of ‘Please Please Please’ can be found on the expanded version of Carpenters’ Grammy-winning album, titled Short n’ Sweet.

In an old-style, black-and-white video production, the footage showcases a pair of stylish individuals on the run from law enforcement. Their target? One of John Carpenter’s former lovers, who finds himself bound and transported in the bed of their truck after being kidnapped.

The carpenter sports hairstyle reminiscent of Dolly, with bouncy golden curls and lace trimmed gloves, as the singer of Jolene croons from the passenger side.

In the music video, Parton lends a fresh country sound to the popular song, donning shimmering cat-eye sunglasses adorned with crystals, flashy fingerless gloves, and a sweater embellished with sequins.

At a certain moment, they can be observed with a sense of achievement, gazing at the pickup’s bed, where they had managed to secure Carpenter’s former partner who was restrained.

In the scene, the carpenter switches her attire to a frilly gingham-patterned swimsuit and heels, while she performs a duet with Parton.

Later on, the pair find themselves in the bed of a pickup truck. Parton assists Carpenter by lighting up his cigarette.

Eventually, the police manage to track down the stylishly criminal individuals when Carpenter spots flashing police lights reflected in her rearview mirror.

next, the video switches to a sequence showing Carpenter’s partner, with a bag covering his head, struggling in the bed of a pickup truck.

Parton, who takes over driving duties, floors it and the blonde beauties are able to evade capture.

As the song concludes, there’s a commotion in the background with what sounds like Carpenter’s former partner shouting and pounding.

On Valentine’s Day midnight, the premium edition of Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet was made available for purchase or download.

This album showcases several fresh tunes, such as “Please Please Please” with Parton, “15 Minutes,” “Bad Reviews,” “Couldn’t Make it Any Tougher,” and “Busy Woman.”

The collection presents various new songs – among them “Please Please Please” with Parton, “15 Minutes,” “Bad Reviews,” “I Can’t Make it Any Easier” (instead of “Couldn’t Make it Any Harder”), and “Occupied Woman.

The carpenter gained widespread recognition for her acting role, appearing on the Disney Channel’s series titled “Girl Meets World” from the years 2014 to 2017.

She sang the series’ theme song alongside Rowan Blanchard, her co-star on the show.

In March 2014, she released her first single titled “Can’t Blame a Girl For Trying”; her first studio album, “Eyes Wide Open,” followed in the year 2015.

In the year 2016, she released albums titled Evolution, followed by Singular: Act I, Singular: Act II, and Emails I Can’t Send in the year 2022.

The latter album featured the track Nonsense, which went viral on TikTok.

In 2023-2024, Sabrina served as the warm-up act for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, performing at certain concerts, further solidifying her position as a prominent figure in the music industry.

In August 2024, the artist unveiled her sixth studio collection titled “Brief but Delicious.” This album included global smashes like “Espresso,” “Taste,” and the popular three-time hit, “Please Please Please.

Last week at the 2025 Grammy Awards, I had the incredible honor of taking home not just one, but two statuettes! This marks my very first and second Grammys, and it’s an experience that will forever hold a special place in my heart.
