Robert Pattinson Teases ‘Cool’ Story for The Batman Part II, Set to Start Filming in 2025

Robert Pattinson shares a fresh update on the upcoming sequel to his 2022 movie, “The Batman.

38-year-old actor, who has confessed that a dramatic tale he shared about his past was fabricated, returned to his birthplace London for the debut of his latest movie, Mickey 17, directed by Bong Joon-ho (Parasite). The film hits theaters on March 7.

3 years back, the actor known for his role in Twilight received outstanding critiques for his performance as both Bruce Wayne and Batman in Matt Reeves’ movie, which grossed approximately $772 million globally.

Robert Pattinson and director, Reeves, are already on board for the upcoming sequel, slated to hit theaters on October 1, 2027, by Warner Bros.

On the red carpet on Thursday, he shared with Deadline that filming for the sequel is set to start towards the end of 2025.

Pattinson shared on the red carpet that we haven’t filmed it yet, but he mentioned that main filming is set to begin at the end of this year.

During the interview, the interviewer mentioned that it appeared some filming had been done prior, but Robert Pattinson clarified, “Oh no, no, no. That was the initial one.

The actor conveyed that it seems like a distant past due to COVID-19 compressing approximately three years, yet he didn’t provide specific anecdotes about his experiences.

When prompted for any hints regarding the story, Pattinson responded, “I can’t reveal anything just yet, but it’s quite intriguing, I assure you.

In a fresh take, the movie version of Batman provides a peek into the famous persona, as the initial installment is centered around the second year of his vigilante activities in the city of Gotham.

The movie depicted his endeavor to expose the escalating rot within Gotham City, all while pursuing a cunning new adversary called The Riddler, portrayed by Paul Dano.

In addition to Robert Pattinson playing Batman, the film also features Zoe Kravitz portraying Catwoman, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell in the role of The Penguin.

The screenplay for Batman was penned by both Reeves and Peter Craig, with Reeves ultimately directing the superhero movie.

In addition to his role, Reeves was also credited as an executive producer for the highly praised series titled “The Penguin”. This production marked the return of Farrell in his iconic character’s role.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t contain my excitement when I heard Reeves himself confirm that the show would act as a connecting link from The Batman to The Batman Part II! With Cristin Milioti stepping into the role of Sofia Falcone and Rhenzy Feliz taking on Victor Aguilar, the Penguin’s new right-hand man, this series is shaping up to be an unforgettable journey that I can hardly wait to embark on!

In my perspective, The Batman resides in a unique world distinct from the DC Universe that Warner Bros. has crafted through their DC Extended Universe, and instead, it’s part of the fresh DC universe spearheaded by James Gunn.

Previously scheduled for an October 2, 2026 release, Warner Bros. later moved the date back almost a full year.

In the upcoming sequel, it’s anticipated that Robert Pattinson, Michael Fassbender, Tom Wright, and Andy Serkis will once again take on their characters. At present, not much else about the project has been revealed.
