On Wednesday evening, they publicly disclosed their relationship for the first time, appearing together at the premiere of the series finale at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.

There, they excitedly displayed the rings on their left fingers, sparking wild guesses among spectators as to whether they had quietly gotten married.

On the next day, Tanner (aged 29) and Mary (aged 28) shared a jubilant announcement on Instagram about their engagement, saying: ‘We’re thrilled to finally tell you all that we’re now engaged!’

In reference to the ending of their series, they remarked: ‘This is an extraordinary moment for us, marking the end of one phase and the start of another that we’re excited to celebrate.’

They mentioned: ‘We’re deeply appreciative of your affection and encouragement. While we value our personal time, we’re thrilled to give you a peek into our lives with this update.’

The humorous martial arts series known as “Cobra Kai” serves as a follow-up to the adored Karate Kid movie series, which first captured hearts back in the 1980s.

Initially debuted on YouTube back in 2018, the series eventually moved to Netflix two years later in 2020 and continued there for the rest of its six-season span.

From the very beginning, Tanner and Mary were part of the main cast, starring alongside Ralph Macchio and William Zabka, who originated their roles in the 1984 Karate Kid movie.

They’ve kept quiet about the start of their romantic journey or the exact moment they proposed, and there’s no clue yet as to when their wedding might take place.

2021 saw Tanner publicly confirming his relationship with Gen V actress Lizze Broadway, whom he praised as ‘simply marvelous’ in an interview with GQ magazine.

Previously, Mary was involved with actor Brett Pierce, known for his roles in shows like The Real O’Neals and Stuck In The Middle.

During the premiere on Wednesday, Tanner noted that Mary was absolutely among his closest confidants on the program; however, he also mentioned that everyone else was in a similar position.

The actor shared with People, ‘We enjoy spending time together and having a good time with everyone, and we often express our hope that we’ll always be a part of each other’s lives. It’s hard for me to put into words.’
