Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic
The unexpected announcement left fans in shock as they anticipated a DLC for the 2023 version of Help Wanted 2. Instead, Steel Wool Studios unveiled an entirely new game titled Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic. This upcoming title promises to blend the classic horror elements of FNAF with fresh lore, novel animatronics, and countless mysteries yet to be unraveled. Check out the official trailer below.
The Mimic’s story
As a devoted fan, I’d like to share some insights about a chilling character from the Tales from the Pizzaplex series, as well as the RUIN DLC for Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach – the Mimic. This menacing figure was ingeniously crafted by Edwin Murray, a former Fazbear Entertainment engineer and board member. His initial intention was to build an animatronic equipped with artificial intelligence to look after his son, David. However, fate took a tragic turn when young David met an untimely end in a car accident. Overwhelmed with grief, Edwin took out his anger on the Mimic. The animatronic, infected by the despair and pain, morphed into a dangerous machine, turning its violent nature against anyone who crossed its path.
Prior to David’s demise, Mimic was a naive and amiable machine with an infantile demeanor. After the brutal attack, however, Mimic transformed into a ruthless, towering animatronic made of metal, with a penchant for violence and a knack for controlling its prey. It has been implicated in numerous deaths across various narratives within the FNAF universe. Interestingly, Mimic is one of the earliest animatronics to have been presented through these stories, rather than being introduced via the games as is usually the case with the characters in this series.
Game summary

In Five Nights at Freddy’s: The Secret of the Mimic, embark on a journey where every shadowy corner conceals a secret and each fleeting light foreshadows an imminent danger. The Mimic, a prototype endoskeleton, possesses the chameleonic ability to transform into any costume and mimic any character, even your greatest fears. This was disclosed in the game’s official summary.
Equipped with just your intellect, some useful devices, and a corporate document heavily concealed, you’ll endeavor to recover Fazbear’s most valued prototype technology. This task will challenge you as you decipher mysterious hints and a persistent enemy intent on eliminating anyone who threatens the company.
