Handmaid’s Tale confirms final season release date days after big behind-the-scenes update
The television series “The Handmaid’s Tale” has announced the release date for its final season, along with a trailer, following recent major updates from behind the scenes.
The long-running dystopian drama, initially debuted in 2017, will be ending its six-season journey quite soon, approximately two years since the broadcast of season 5’s finale.
Hulu has officially confirmed that the show is set to resume on the 6th of April, accompanied by an exciting preview that hints at a significant rebellion.
According to June, as portrayed by Elisabeth Moss, they thought that the clothes they wore revealed their identities to the world.
They identified us by coloring us red – a hue associated with blood. Yet, they failed to realize it’s also symbolic of fury. The gown transformed into our attire, and we morphed into a force to be reckoned with.
Subsequently, we catch a peek at figures like Serena (Yvonne Strahovski), Luke (O-T Fagbenle), and Moira (Samira Wiley) as the handmaids make their way into a church, hinting at a significant event that is imminent.
The handmaids also prepare switchblades as the trailer promises that “the revolution is here”.
The sneak peek arrives a couple of days following Fagbenle’s Instagram announcement that they had finished shooting the last episodes.
Posting a string of charming backstage snapshots alongside his co-stars, he penned: “And that concludes filming for the last season of The Handmaid’s Tale! Keep an eye out for its upcoming release! What do you think will happen next?
2022 marks the end of our show’s run, and showrunner Bruce Miller expressed his gratitude by stating: “It has been an immense privilege to adapt Margaret Atwood’s groundbreaking novel and create a world that is eerily relevant, and we are excited to offer viewers a sixth and concluding season of The Handmaid’s Tale.
The dystopian drama series “The Handmaid’s Tale” will be back on April 6, streaming exclusively on Hulu in the United States. In the UK, you can catch it on Channel 4 as well as Amazon Prime Video.
