Legendary boxer Amir Khan disclosed that he declined offers for two significant TV programs when executives from the BBC reached out.
Last year, the 38-year-old boxer, who appeared on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2017, was up for competing in Strictly Come Dancing and Celebrity MasterChef. Yet, he chose to decline both invitations.
He told Betway: ‘I have been asked to do Strictly Come Dancing so maybe I would do that.’
He mentioned that someone had asked him to participate in Celebrity MasterChef lately, but unfortunately he wasn’t able to film it this year.
Amir said he would consider signing up for either show in the future if the timing worked out.
He explained: ‘There are a lot of shows but it’s hard to get the time.’
Apart from confessing, he acknowledged his affection for participating in TV programs since they provide an opportunity for viewers to glimpse the authentic version of him.
However, Amir emphasized that he is selective and will only participate in ‘top shows’.
Despite his willingness to appear on more programs, the boxer isn’t desperate for the paycheck.
In the month of December, Amir, a resident of Dubai, announced his latest acquisition – another lavish property. He expressed this joyfully on Instagram with the post, “What a blessing! Another property added to my collection. Invest wisely, reap the rewards.
He added: ‘All my investments are cash paid. Never been in debt.’
In the previous year, Amir spent more than £130,000 on a new G-Wagon for his spouse, Faryal Makhdoom, following another instance of a sexting controversy he found himself in.
Last year, it was disclosed that Amir and Faryal were allegedly no longer together and residing separately following an incident where Amir was accused of sending explicit messages to another woman.
The long-lasting marriage (that’s been going strong for a full decade and resulted in the birth of three kids) seemed to be facing difficulties when Amir reached out to model Sumaira over the internet, asking her to share suggestive images.
During that period, news circulated that Amir and Faryal were alternating their residency between their homes in Dubai and the United Kingdom as Faryal pondered over the decision to terminate their marriage.
According to a reliable source connected with the Khan family, Faryal was considering whether to leave the situation at that point in time.
They mentioned that she is currently experiencing a particularly challenging period, opting instead to prioritize her children. Concurrently, she and Amir remain involved in the shared responsibility of parenting.
