I’ve Been Unfairly Treated by the BBC!
Wynne Evans’ joke about a spit-roast, it seems, was a familiar term for one of his colleagues and considered light-hearted banter among his Strictly friends. This comes as reports suggest that Evans intends to challenge the BBC at a tribunal over what he perceives as unfair treatment, following his dismissal from Strictly.
53-year-old celebrity from Go Compare, allegedly feels his name has been unjustly damaged due to being left in shreds, following his apology for a distasteful remark directed towards tour host Janette Manrara. The controversy arose when videos of the comment surfaced at the tour’s press event launch.
Wynne was recorded crudely suggesting a three-way sex session with presenter Janette, using the hugely demeaning term ‘spit roast’. Janette did not form a complaint against the singer.
It appears that among his associates, the sexual comment was widely recognized or well-known within the group of experts and prominent figures participating in the tour.
During the tour, the phrase was often commented upon and mocked, eventually becoming a frequent topic of discussion among people, until Wynne was found out.
Supporters of the musician confided in a news outlet that Wynne is deeply distressed because, despite the ongoing jest, nobody stepped forward to support him openly.

A pal shared with The Sun: “Wynne has a knack for filling silent moments. Naturally humorous, Wynne is always ready with a joke, whether it’s coming from the left or the right.
Some may find themselves in a slightly awkward situation, but it’s nothing more severe than what an average 50-year-old man might casually remark.
TopMob contacted Wynne’s representatives and the BBC for comment.
In the film MoS, Wynne is positioned among a group of 20 famous personalities and dancers. Suddenly, Janette, who presents Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two on TV, is called over to join them. As she makes her way towards them, Wynne, smiling, cautions her: ‘Keep your distance from Jamie [Borthwick]!’
Later, he subtly makes a flirtatious expression towards the actor, while Janette is walking past, unaware. At this moment, Wynne cracks his inappropriate joke about her.
Moments after, her dancing spouse Aljaz Skorjanec, situated not far off, inquires tenderly, “My dear, are you alright?” To which she responds briskly, “Yes.
Janette’s representative stated that the host didn’t realize they had made the comment by Wynne, as it was clearly heard by our reporter who was recording with a smartphone from about 20 yards away.
Reports suggest that Wynne, having brought on a crisis public relations specialist after his dismissal from the tour, intends to challenge his termination, and is consulting with a group of legal advisors for guidance.

According to reports, the star has clarified that his “spit-roasting” comment did not concern Janette, and it seems that other celebrities on the tour were already aware of this.
It is believed that higher-ups at Go Compare, the insurance company Wynne has represented since 2009, may have convened emergency discussions regarding his tenure with the company, and the musician has temporarily withdrawn from his BBC Wales radio program following the controversy.
According to a source, The Sun was informed that Wynne expressed his intention to take the matter to a tribunal with the BBC. He vowed to put up the strongest resistance possible, using every ounce of energy within him. Wynne feels he has been subjected to an unjust treatment and is determined not to back down without a struggle.
Wynne understands the significance of his remark, and it’s aggravating for him to know that several professional dancers and famous personalities on the tour with him also grasp its meaning.
1) He’s deeply hurt by how things unfolded, as no one has come forward to support him publicly despite the situation being a harmless inside joke that didn’t upset anyone. Wynne finds himself disappointed in the entire process and some of his colleagues with whom he had a strong bond.
Last month, The Mail On Sunday disclosed video evidence of Wynne’s controversial “spit-roast” comment. Although he was cautioned by tour authorities regarding his behavior, the BBC stated that no complaints were made to them during that period.
Wynne’s friend mentioned that since he was removed from the tour following the release of video showing his joke, he believes his dismissal from the performances was an overly hasty response to public feedback about the joke.
When approached by The Sun, the BBC chose not to provide a statement. We’ve reached out to both Wynne Evans and the BBC for their comments on the matter.

Reports indicated that Wynne had retained legal representation and was contemplating a lawsuit against the BBC, alleging a breach of contract and financial losses, following his removal from the Strictly Come Dancing tour.
As an over-the-moon admirer, I can exclusively share that my idol, Wynne, hasn’t been his usual self this past week. Thankfully, his dear brother and partner have been taking excellent care of him during this tough time.
‘He’s appointed an expensive law firm to take advice on potentially losing his jobs.’
According to reports, it seems that his friends are firm in their belief that Wynne can survive this current scandal and rebound in his career.
As reported by The Mirror, a friend of the celebrity is standing up for him against criticism, attributing it to Wynne’s alleged poor sense of humor.
‘Ultimately, he acted foolishly and committed a silly blunder, but is it justified for him to receive so much hate?’
Apologies for any confusion caused earlier. I now recognize that using the term “spit-roast” was inappropriate and I deeply regret it. You see, I have a knack for entertaining and often find myself drawn to amuse my audience. It’s like I’m stuck in an endless school play where laughter is currency, but I assure you, it was never my intention to offend or diminish the gravity of the situation.
My buddy commented: “It’s too soon to discuss his career wrapping up. In truth, his radio program enjoys a significant following, and he is well-regarded by many.

Wynne confirmed his departure from the Strictly live tour in a grovelling statement.
He announced that he has arranged a break from his radio program, Strictly Live tour, and other public duties with the BBC, in order to focus on his personal wellness.
I’m truly regretful for the hurt my unsuitable behavior has inflicted, and I intend to use this period for some introspection about myself.
I regret that I won’t be able to meet you at the upcoming shows, but I’m truly thankful to my fellow travel companions on this tour for their incredible support they’ve provided me.
Dancing professional Katya Jones, previously paired with Wynne on Strictly Come Dancing, reshared the post and commented: “Let’s extend kindness and understanding to one another.
Additionally, Katya chose to stop following Liz on Instagram following the reported breakup of their couplehood. In a subsequent post shared on her Instagram Stories, she expressed that she would miss Wynne.
The performance of Katya and Wynne on Strictly became clouded due to a controversy surrounding an inappropriate touch incident, as Katya had to ask Wynne to withdraw his hand from her waist during their dance last October.
It seemed like the dancer rejected Evans’ high-five gesture, but they both clarified that the entire incident was just a joke that got misconstrued.
