White Lotus Star Dating Netflix Nepo Baby—But Guess His Famous Parents!
The 21-year-old, often referred to as a “nepo baby” (short for nephew or grandchild of famous people), is getting ready to arrive at the White Lotus resort in Thailand for the upcoming third season of the widely acclaimed HBO series.
As a youngster, the individual lived in Notting Hill, London, having spent his youth there, and later moved to Brooklyn, New York, from Britain.
At Saint Ann’s School in Brooklyn, he studied, with tuition ranging from $48,000 to $52,000 annually, prior to being accepted into esteemed Columbia University.
In 2013, the budding actor first appeared on the small screen in the HBO series Doll & Em, taking on the character of Ariel during filming.
However, he proved his “family connections” credentials since one of the show’s writers was his own mom, a renowned British actress who tied the knot with a prominent American actor.
His mom is primarily recognized for her roles as an actress and director in the films Lovely & Amazing from 2001 and The Newsroom between 2012 and 2014. On the other hand, his dad gained fame through his appearances in The Brutalist in 2024, American Hustle in 2013, and Disobedience in 2017.
So who are this famous couple?
Emily Mortimer and Alessandro Nivola, along with their son Sam, are poised for significant rise in popularity due to his forthcoming role in a show directed by Mike White.
In an interview with Vogue, Sam mentioned that his parents are not well-known personalities who attract recognition when out in public. Instead, they go unnoticed by passersby on the street.
Emily and Alessandro have been a couple for over two decades, and they officially became husband and wife in 2003, having met each other three years earlier on the filming set of Love’s Labour’s Lost.
The duo is blessed with two offspring who, since their early years, have mirrored their paths in the television and cinema industry following their initial acting role at 11.
Additionally, they are the guardians of Sam’s younger sibling May, aged 14, who shared the screen with her brother in the apocalyptic black comedy movie “White Noise” that was released in 2022.
In 1985, the novel by Don DeLillo was transformed for the screen, and it was the siblings who assumed significant roles in this adaptation. This adaptation opened the Venice Film Festival that same year.
During that period, I was delighted to share that Noah Baumbach, the man behind the scenes of White Noise, expressed: “Emily Mortimer and Alessandro Nivola are individuals I’ve known for quite some time now. Their talent has consistently left me in awe.
In our search for talented children, we sifted through numerous auditions, recalls, and the two Nivola siblings consistently stood out. They were simply exceptional.

In this production, Sam took on the role of Heinrich, while May portrayed Steffie. Notably, the primary character, Professor Jack Gladney, was skillfully played by Adam Driver.
In my recent endeavors, I had the privilege of gracing the screen alongside my on-screen siblings in “The Pursuit of Love,” a production masterfully directed by our very own mother Emily, for the esteemed British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) just last year.
Sam has been seeing Iris Apatow, a nepotism beneficiary like him, for the last two years. Her parents are actress Leslie Mann and filmmaker Judd Apatow.
In a similar conversation with Vogue, Sam playfully remarked that his group of celebrity friends born into prominent families resembles an exclusive club or secret society, often seen wearing dark cloaks, humorously referring to them as ‘a clandestine coven of nepo children’.
Regardless of having collaborated with Bradley Cooper in “Maestro” and Nicole Kidman on “The Perfect Couple” for Netflix, it’s his upcoming role that could propel him to unprecedented levels of fame.
Nevertheless, Sam confessed that he had no doubt he wouldn’t secure the job, sharing with the fashion magazine: “I have never been more convinced that I wouldn’t land a role.
