Prince William’s Chum Takes Over Historic Devon Village Amid Controversy!

In 2014, Nicholas Johnston spontaneously purchased the picturesque Bantham Estate with no intention of developing it. He made it clear he had no such plans.

However, just three years on, he introduced plans for constructing new homes, a beach club, and an underground parking facility.

The 760-acre property located in Devon encompasses a village, a winery, a golf course, and a section of the stunning South Devon coastline.

Residents who voted against Johnston’s proposals in a referendum might be unsettled upon learning that the property he bought for £11.5million has since been sold to a company based in Buckinghamshire. Notably, one of the three directors of this firm is also an Old Etonian, like Johnston, and their main business involves property promotion and development.

However, prior to the residents of Bantham feeling alarmed, let me share some comforting information. The approaching pirate happens to be a close confidant of the Prince of Wales.

To put it simply, William highly respects Harry Aubrey-Fletcher, who is the son of Sir Henry Aubrey-Fletcher, 8th baronet. As a result, he has chosen to appoint Harry as an advisor for the Duchy of Cornwall.

The two have been friends since their prep school days at Ludgrove and through Eton. 

Regardless of where Aubrey-Fletcher joined William – be it a guys’ trip to Cornwall for surfing, hunting, or skiing in Klosters before his marriage to Catherine, or playfully pulling the prince’s left ear at Cheltenham races in 2013 – their friendship has always remained unwavering.

As a die-hard fan, it came as no shock to me that I, standing there among the crowd, was none other than William, the usher at Harry’s wedding to Lady Stourton, Louise, the eldest daughter of the 24th Lord Stourton. Nor did it surprise me in the least that Aubrey-Fletcher, a familiar face to me, had been chosen as one of Prince Louis’s godfathers.

The family business, Chilton Home Farms, where his parents serve as joint directors, refers to Bantham as a “remarkable treasure,” admired for its breathtaking scenery and the richness of its estuary environment.

Additionally, it’s a gem that comes with an extremely high price tag; Johnston had asked for £30 million for it back in September.

Watching Harry protect it as he strives for a profitable outcome from the recent family investment is bound to be quite fascinating.

 

How Phoebe’s family were in on the act when Cam proposed

It’s evident that American actor Cameron Fuller had a good understanding of the route to win over Phoebe Dynevor, which was through her loved ones.

During a family vacation in the English countryside last May, the 29-year-old Bridgerton actor’s sister, Hattie (who is also an actress), shared that Fuller popped the question.

Hattie shared with me that she had gotten engaged in the breathtaking Cotswolds. She described the scene as incredibly beautiful and emotional, mentioning that all of her family attended and she was overcome with tears of joy.

According to Hattie, who is 21 years old, it’s unclear when she will be getting married. At this point, they seem to be savoring their engagement and haven’t given much thought to the wedding just yet. Their engagement celebration was a lovely weekend event. She hasn’t begun contemplating the details of the wedding at all.

When asked if she’d serve as a bridesmaid, Hattie chuckled and expressed her hopeful sentiment: ‘I haven’t been asked yet, but I certainly hope to be.’

One year on: Dave Myers’ legacy 

A year ago, the beloved Hairy Bikers’ co-star Dave Myers passed away at the age of 66 following a tough two-year struggle with cancer. However, his impact continues to thrive.

This week, the final installment of his popular cooking program on BBC Two was named the Best Food Show at the TV Choice Awards.

According to co-star Si King, who was present during the event in London, there’s going to be a personal tribute commemorating the one year anniversary of Dave’s passing, which falls on February 28th.

King, aged 58, has declared that he will not create any more shows featuring Myers, as he believes there is no Punch and Judy without Punch, and similarly, “there’s no Hairy Bikers without Dave.” This implies that just as the character Punch cannot be separated from Judy in a Punch and Judy show, King feels that Myers is an integral part of their collaborative work, much like Dave is to the Hairy Bikers duo.
