Married At First Sight groom Dave Hand has lifted the lid on the reality of filming Intimacy Week.

In conversation with Daily Mail Australia, the 37-year-old individual shared that although numerous couples took part in this daring exploration, he personally felt uneasy about it.

In my line of work, maintaining a natural dialogue becomes all the more challenging when a camera crew is present. However, throw in a situation where I find myself less than fully dressed, and that’s a whole new level of complexity! It’s quite an interesting balancing act to say the least.

In their case, the handyman from TikTok, along with his bride Jamie Marinos, chose to proceed at a more deliberate pace. Rather than being swept away by the passion of the moment like some other couples, they prioritized creating a stronger emotional bond before moving forward.

He mentioned that he was watching the episode from Monday while seated with his pet, occasionally covering its eyes as it got a little too intense for comfort.

‘Billy was rubbing [his bride] Sierah’s back like he was trying to start a bushfire,’ he joked.

In the course of their shared experience, Dave and Billy have developed a close bond, which he happily shares as an accomplishment.

Billy and I were absolutely in agreement. Once it ended, we found ourselves backstage and simply said, “That didn’t go as planned,” explaining the situation.

At the upcoming dinner gathering, it seems that Dave, who’s generally laid-back among the grooms in the study, is on the verge of escalating tensions with Ryan Donnelly due to his perceived mistreatment of Jacqui Burfoot.

The events unfolded during a sex therapy session for grooms, led by Alessandra Rampolla, when Ryan disparaged his spouse with disrespectful remarks.

Dave was left furious, slamming Ryan for the disrespectful remarks.

Firstly, we weren’t aware that he and Jacqui were engaged in that activity, but secondly, his behavior of mocking her while speaking was unacceptable. To put it simply, it’s utterly uncool. He got furious over this.

Dave didn’t hold back, calling out Ryan’s lack of respect for his wife.

‘Who do you think you are, that you can speak about another woman like that?’ he said.

Although Dave initially held his tongue, he later regretted not calling Ryan out on the spot.

His remarks were completely off-base, and I wish I had addressed them immediately, as they weren’t appropriate towards Alessandra. After all, how is she expected to control a group of rowdy boys with such behavior?

He revealed  he wasn’t alone in his disgust, with Billy also siding with him.

Billy and I completely agreed on the matter. After it ended, we found ourselves backstage, expressing our surprise by saying something along the lines of, “What was that? Who has the audacity to speak about Jacqui in such a manner, and who is Ryan to do so?

Additionally, Dave emphasized that Ryan’s remarks were not merely inappropriate; they pointed to a larger problem concerning the way women were being handled within the study.

‘I won’t stand for it!’ Dave defends the brides

Dave has pledged to support the females involved in the study and speak out against harmful or disrespectful behavior whenever it arises.

From the outset, it’s important to clarify my stance: I will not tolerate disrespectful comments about women or belittling them during this study. I strongly object to such behavior.

As a passionate admirer, I can’t help but echo the sentiment that it’s high time men in reality television are called out for their behavior towards women, particularly during those critical moments under the spotlight.

‘I don’t think there’s a place for it anywhere, let alone on national TV,’ he added.

I have consistently made it a point to address any inappropriate behavior. Since day one, I’ve been clear about this stance, and it’s a part of who I am in life. The same rule applies at social gatherings like dinner parties; I will not hesitate to speak up.

Why can’t I demonstrate respectful behavior towards women without imposing it on others? I’m merely being authentic in my actions.

Apart from all the theatrics, Dave is swiftly gaining popularity among this season’s grooms, as audiences adore his caring disposition and robust sense of ethics.

Beyond the show’s excitement, it’s Dave who has been rapidly gaining fan-favorite groom status, with viewers appreciating his nurturing side and firm code of conduct.

He shared with me that we both feel the same about this topic. It turns out, I’m thrilled to pieces knowing that Jamie shares my fondness for it as well.

But the newfound fame has come with some surprises—including being recognised in public.

The other day, I was enjoying my Parmigiana, and suddenly someone snapped a picture of me. To be honest, it didn’t bother me at all. It’s quite flattering, and people have been incredibly encouraging about it,” he explained.
