Fans Think Lady Gaga’s New Song Abracadabra Sounds Like 80s Hit

Lady Gaga’s infectious new hit Abracadabra has drawn comparisons to an iconic song from the 80s.

The tune of the dance song bears resemblance to the 1982 release “Mad World” by Tears for Fears, a more leisurely tempo and low-fidelity track.

Despite the differences, numerous listeners couldn’t help but spot the similarities.

On TikTok, Jarred Jermaine noted a similarity between two songs by comparing their melodies, leading to a variety of responses from fans, some of whom supported his observation while others did not.

Nevertheless, many people who listened commented on the resemblance, with one saying, “It sounded familiar!” for instance.

‘Yea I hear the similarity. Gaga is just sped up,’ another posted.

‘Gaga’s melody is faster but it’s the same melody,’ one said in the comments.

On X, the comparisons persisted, with someone noting that in the Tears for Fears song, the phrase “Abracadabra” seems to gradually transform each time they hear it played.

Another individual reported that they began both performing the dance and playing the music, assuming it was Lady Gaga’s latest single, upon the mistaken belief that it was actually Mad World.

A user mentioned that whenever the song “Abracadabra” by Lady Gaga gets stuck in their head, it gradually transforms into “Mad World” by Gary Jules for them.

Apologies for the mix-up! I mistakenly began playing and performing to Mad World instead of Abracadabra by Lady Gaga, oops, I guess I wasn’t paying enough attention. Silly me.

As a dedicated admirer, I couldn’t help but share my thoughts when Jarred’s TikTok video comparing those two tracks hit the airwaves too. One commentator chimed in, acknowledging that there were indeed striking resemblances between the tunes.

I’m not trying to be picky on TikTok, but it seems like ‘Abracadabra’ and ‘Mad World’ might have a similar sound, perhaps unintentionally.

When I initially heard ‘abracadabra’, it reminded me of ‘Mad World’, as another user pointed out when they felt that ‘Jarred’ might be going too far.”

This version maintains the original meaning while using natural, easy-to-read language to convey the idea that someone had a similar thought about ‘abracadabra’ sounding like ‘Mad World’ and that another user felt Jarred was being overly dramatic.

Another said they had been thinking about the resemblance all day.

Is it just me, or does ‘Abracadabra’ sound like ‘Mad World’ to anyone else? This thought has crossed my mind since yesterday.

Gaga dropped Abracadabra earlier this month along with the accompanying edgy music video.

The tune hails from her upcoming eighth main studio release, titled “Mayhem,” that additionally features the hits “Disease” and “Die With a Smile.

The singer mentioned in a recent press release that the new album originally stemmed from him confronting his apprehension about going back to the pop music that his initial fans cherished.

Gaga also took to Instagram on Sunday, sharing a video of herself on her way to the Super Bowl.

She moved gracefully along the hotel corridor while playing her latest tune, Abracadabra, dressed in a floor-length black gown, complete with tall black boots adorned with thick heels and accessorized by a single black glove on one hand.

Her raven tresses were styled straight and she completed the look with a pair of sunglasses.

She excitedly wrote in her caption, ‘Going into the SUPERBOWL with an Abra-Cadabra-like enthusiasm! Whether it’s about SPORTS or SPELLS, I can’t wait!’
