Ozzy Osbourne’s Health Update Before Final Black Sabbath Gig
Ozzy Osbourne, following his announcement about the last Black Sabbath concert scheduled for later in 2021, has shared an update on his health status.
Over the past five years, the musician has experienced seven operations, with the most recent one being a fourth spinal surgery in September 2023. Since 2003, he or she has been fighting Parkinson’s disease.
Just a day ago, Ozzy Osbourne shared some news about his current health and mental status, as he prepares for his last live performance scheduled in July, a charity event happening in Birmingham.
On SiriusXM’s Ozzy’s Boneyard, he expressed: “You know, I often talk about how I can’t walk or do certain things, but during the holidays, it struck me – despite all my grumbling, I’m still here.
He went on to say, “Although I complain about my difficulty walking, if I look ahead, there are individuals who have done far less than me, yet they did not survive.
‘I’m trying to get back on my feet.’

Host Billy Morrison added: ‘Ozzy, you are so much better than you were just a year ago.’
He responded: “Yes, however, the healing process is taking a long time. That frustrating surgeon. On top of that, I’ve been dealing with Parkinson’s. In the morning when I wake up, it’s not as simple as jumping out of bed. I need to stabilize myself, you understand? But let me tell you, I’m not gone yet, as you suggested. I’m still managing my daily activities.
Last week, it came to light that his band plans to reunite after a 20-year hiatus, joining several other prominent acts.
This summer, the classic Black Sabbath band members will unite for a unique performance in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
On July 5th, the concert is scheduled at the hometown of the band, and it promises to include performances by Ozzy (age 76), bassist Geezer Butler, and drummer Bill Ward from the group.
Unexpectedly, Ozzy expressed doubts about returning to the stage during a 2024 Rolling Stone interview, stating that he was not overly optimistic.
When asked if he could, he said, “I’d really like to, but unfortunately, I can’t get up at the moment. Perhaps I’ll manage sometime in the future. I truly yearn for it.
Later, they posed a question to the star about performing a brief set if he gets inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. His response was: “Perhaps. I’ll have to wait and see.

In 2003, a renowned British musician received a diagnosis of a mild type of Parkinson’s disease. Yet, it wasn’t until 2020 that he chose to make his health situation known to the public.
Nevertheless, Ozzy attributes his greatest challenges to a fall he experienced in 2019, resulting in the displacement of metal rods in his spine.
The rods had been put there following a quad bike accident at his Buckinghamshire home in 2003.
He shared with Rolling Stone UK that the second operation turned out disastrously, nearly leaving him incapacitated.
Initially, I assumed I’d be back on my feet following the second and third procedures, but the final one involved inserting a rod into my spinal column.
Upon discovering a tumor in one of his vertebrae, it necessitated the removal of the affected area as well. It’s quite challenging, I must say, and my equilibrium feels significantly off-balance now.
The Dark Prince himself mentioned that he only has “a few more cries” before his time runs out, reminiscing about a past argument he had with his spouse regarding the use of cannabis.
On Wednesday, Sharon, Ozzy’s wife, attended the unveiling of the new show at Birmingham’s Villa Park, which serves as a concert venue, in the company of the band’s guitarist, Tony Iommi.
Sharon proudly held up a Villa football shirt with Ozzy’s name on the back as she posed pitchside.

In the early ’70s, this band was among the first to popularize heavy metal tunes, including tracks like “War Pigs,” “Paranoid,” and “Iron Man.
Black Sabbath has performed in various reunion configurations since their concert in 2005, yet they have not appeared as the original band members since then.
Sharon, co-parent of three kids with the celebrity, has acknowledged that the show could pose a challenging situation for him/her.
She shared with The Sun, “He’s genuinely thrilled to return and quite emotional over it. Being aware that Parkinson’s is a continuous illness, he’s progressing through its stages.
This condition isn’t something that can be made steady or constant. It influences various areas of the body, and in this case, it has impacted his legs. However, remarkably, his voice remains as strong as it has always been.
The earnings from the performance are going to be evenly distributed among three charitable organizations – Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorn Children’s Hospice. However, it is Sharon and Ozzy who will decide which of these donations goes to Cure Parkinson’s.
