Unforgotten fans ‘shout loudly’ at huge reveal in returning season episode
Unforgotten season 6 episode 1 spoilers follow.
Last night saw the return of the much anticipated sixth season of “Unforgotten,” leaving viewers eager for more following an astonishing finale.
In this crime-focused series, Sanjeev Bhaskar and Sinéad Keenan take on the roles of Detective Inspector Sunny Khan and Detective Chief Inspector Jessie James. Their primary task involves investigating unsolved cases of missing persons and homicide, specifically those that have gone cold.
In the opening of season six, Sunny and Jessie were probing into remains discovered earlier, which were later identified as those of a man named Gerard Cooper. This individual went missing in 2011, and the detective handling the investigation at that time was none other than disgraced officer Ram Sidhu.
The final scene featured a shot of Ram in his prison cell.
After the first episode of the new season, Bhaskar shared an Instagram post hinting at the episode events, encouraging fans to discuss the surprising ending and the unforeseen return.
I just finished the initial episode, and I was thrilled by the surprising finale! I can hardly contain my excitement for the subsequent events.
This show has me hooked after just one episode, and I can’t wait to watch more. Tomorrow’s episode will likely trigger a binge-watching session of the series, although I’m curious about why a particular character is back,” another viewer remarked, complimenting Bhaskar by saying, “You continue to impress me.
“Omg what an ending!” a third person commented.
People keen on discovering more about the current season don’t need to wait much longer, as Unforgotten is set to broadcast its second episode this evening.
Beginning filming during March of the previous year, Chris Lang, both creator and author, hinted that the upcoming season would unfold a narrative that had been maturing for almost eight years—ever since the 23rd of June, 2016, when it appeared as if our nation was splitting apart.
He went on to say: “Today, the UK, along with the rest of the world, appears more split than ever before. Series six aims to explore how we reached this point and, crucially, where we might be headed next.
As a dedicated fan, I’ve been eagerly awaiting the premiere of Unforgotten Season 6! You can catch it on ITV1 and STV, or if you prefer streaming, it’s also available on ITVX and STV Player. And if you’re new to the series, you’ll be happy to know that Seasons 1-5 are readily accessible on the same platforms, so you can binge-watch to your heart’s content!
