Aema May offered an apology to Australia, acknowledging her role as the woman of short stature and blonde hair who had gone out with Married At First Sight participant Tim Gromie. She admitted that she led him to think he could meet his well-known expectations.

A popular beauty blogger, aged 32, shared a sequence of videos describing her encounters with the well-known PE teacher, who departed from the project along with his partner Katie Johnstone during the Sunday evening finale.

She started off by saying, “I unfortunately found myself going out with a man who believes himself to be womankind’s greatest blessing, and let me tell you, that is far from the truth.

Last week, when Aema came across a meme of Tim on her social media, she hardly seemed to know him. Interestingly enough, she also felt the same way when she finally met him in person during their date.

He made me feel uncomfortable throughout, and it was clear that he had a high opinion of himself.

Aema, the proprietor of Dear Lashes lash studio and brow bar in Surrey Hills, Melbourne, has recently announced her upcoming marriage. She confessed that she felt ‘extremely mortified’ to disclose that she had spent time with Tim back in September 2019.

The beauty blogger mentioned that she was recently going through a tough separation when she swiftly encountered Tim, who stood out among the many good-looking men she met on dating platforms.

She mentioned, “You tend to choose men who might not be skilled photographers,” she said. “You consider, perhaps their appearance is more appealing in person.

‘Also, I’m not a b***h so I’ll give a chance to a medium-ugly guy.’

In a previous episode of Married at First Sight, Tim, who referred to himself as overly kind, has received criticism from viewers due to him rejecting his bride during the wedding ceremony because she didn’t match his typical preference.

The 38-year-old said his type is ‘blonde, or brunette,’ ‘petite’, and ‘short’. 

During their honeymoon, Tim also shared with Katie that he would “draw the curtains,” when the jokester (social enterprise owner) mentioned the idea of running around without clothes.

It’s true that the latest rumors about Tim being on dating apps are correct, as he has been actively using them ever since he left the program.

She mentioned that the photo he’s currently using on Tinder is the same one he had when they first met, which has been at least five years ago.

‘Even then, the photo was very outdated,’ she continued.

However, I chose to assume the best about him due to his being a teacher, as I tend to think educators generally possess kindness and reliability.

In simpler terms, a representative from Tinder Australia explained to Daily Mail that Tim’s actions on the app fall under the term ‘kittenfishing’, which means presenting oneself in a more attractive or desirable way than one’s actual self during the online dating process.

‘Kittenfishing is a term used to describe someone who presents an exaggerated, slightly older, or slightly deceptive version of themselves on social media.’

After meeting Tim in person, Aema said she quickly got the dreaded ‘ick.’ 

‘I can endure a coffee date with most people and I had no plans to see him again after that.’

Shockingly, as Aema’s first TikTok videos garnered 82,000 and 205,000 views each, she was forced to confront a startling truth: she had previously slept with Tim, a realization that came about when she revisited her old messages.

She showed a screenshot of a message sent to her friend on 14 September 2019 after the encounter.  

She wrote that he doesn’t show much affection unless he’s in a committed relationship. He avoids physical gestures like hugs or kisses at partings, and leaves so swiftly that it makes one wish everyone acted the same way.

Aema further shared a private message from Tim, which he had sent via Instagram: “Hey, it was great fun last night, if you’re up for it again.

She went on to explain, “When Tim attempted to meet up with me again, I had lost interest and made it clear to him.” She added that Tim was quite persistent in his attempts.

In a similar fashion, Aema’s account of Tim’s tenacity echoes that of the OnlyFans model, Brooke-Emily Simmons, who disclosed the text messages she exchanged with Tim to Daily Mail Australia.

Every time he tried to persuade me to date him, all I could visualize was him bursting out of his slim-fit pants, Aema explained.

The slim-fitting pants simply couldn’t accommodate his size. It’s not my style to resort to body shaming, but let’s face it, we’re all familiar with his strong opinions that have echoed across Australia.

Later, she displayed the profile picture she had liked on Tinder when she crossed paths with Tim. In that image, he appears notably thinner and more youthful, with her commenting that he was almost unrecognizable.
