Little Mix’s Hilarious X-Rated Band Name Change

Initially, Little Mix needed to replace their initial band names on two occasions when they discovered a humorous, adult-oriented connotation hidden within one of them.

In 2011, the renowned British girl group, consisting of Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jesy Nelson, and Jade Thirlwall, gained massive popularity following their appearance on X Factor.

Previously known as Rhytmix, the band encountered issues with a charity over the name’s rights.

However, a name change wasn’t something new for Rhytmix, as they were previously known as Infinite Bass during the Judges’ Houses stage of X Factor under the guidance of Tulisa.

Previously, bandmates Jesy and Perrie shared their struggles regarding the band name during an interview, with Jesy expressing to Digital Spy: “It’s quite exasperating as we modified it on three different occasions.

‘We were Infinite Bass and they were like, “You’ve got to change it”.’ 

Perrie clarified: “The producers questioned if we knew the definition from Urban Dictionary, to which we responded, ‘No’, not realizing it referred to an ‘eternal climax’.

She had custom-made shoes, complete with her name on them. She splurged on them specifically for the Judges’ Houses.

Initially using Rhytmix, they found themselves compelled to alter it once more, eventually settling on the name Little Mix, a decision that propelled them towards a prosperous career.

After Jade acknowledged that Jordan Stephens was her soulmate, following the touching act he did to comfort her after Jesy’s unexpected departure from Little Mix.

In a recent interview, the 32-year-old singer shared that it was during their fourth year together when the Rizzle Kicks frontman truly won her heart. She remembered this moment fondly as he surprised her with a comforting pastry from Greggs to cheer her up.

Discussing Jesy’s departure from Little Mix in 2020 on The Louis Theroux Podcast, Jade shared that she cried when making her decision to leave the group. Meanwhile, Jordan reacted by getting her a sweet treat from a bakery.

She mentioned that they were heading north to visit her relatives, and she cried loudly for approximately an hour.

‘We parked up at services and he was like, ”do you want some peace?”. And I was like, ”yes”.’

In that moment, I realized he was truly special when he asked, “Are you okay if I step out for a while?” Frankly, I was at a loss for words. Instead, I expressed my feelings through an enthusiastic silence.

Later on, he ventured out to the stores, returned with a pastry from Greggs, and at that moment, it struck me as the perfect choice.

Jade further shared her feelings, stating that she felt sorrowful upon Jesy’s departure from Little Mix when she chose to leave the band, and they haven’t exchanged words since then.

She shared that she had been seeing Jordan, but it was still quite new between them. As a result, she felt apprehensive about revealing the significance of their relationship to him.

‘I think in his head he was like, ”Oh, you were a band, someone left, that happens all the time”.

While we were on the road, I found myself becoming quite terse with him. Suddenly, without any warning, I let out a loud, unexpected roar, sounding more like a distressed marine creature than a human.

‘I’d never cried like that since my grandad died when I was 13.

I believe our long history of love and shared experiences – both the joyous moments, the challenging times, as well as our supportive actions towards one another – played a significant role.

This month, Jesy announced that she and her partner Zion Foster are expecting twins.
