Shroud’s Fragathon raises over $1 million for St. Jude’s
An incredible accomplishment for shroud and the streaming community.
Streamer Shroud surpassed the million-dollar milestone during his 2025 Fragathon charity drive for St. Jude’s, with more than half of the funds directly contributed by his online community. This significant achievement was reached on February 9th.
2025’s Fragathon was held as a tribute to Shroud’s deceased father, with all collected funds going directly to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for advancements in childhood cancer and other illness treatments. Exceeding the $1 million fundraising goal means that Shroud must fulfill his initial promise when he founded Fragathon – to establish his own esports organization.
Ludwig, Tarik, Trainwrecks, bbno$ help contribute to Shroud’s monumental fundraiser goal
On February 9th, just past midnight, we surpassed the significant milestone of $1 million! With excitement coursing through our veins, I exclaimed, “We did it, we did it!” Inviting friends and family to join us in celebration on the stream.
Shroud’s Fragathon kicked off its fundraising efforts with a total just over $750,000, aiming to reach the milestone of $1 million. The grand finale was packed with gaming events and auctions. Rare Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering cards were sold for thousands, as prominent collectors joined in the bidding.
As a dedicated fan, I was on the edge of my seat during the auctions, watching as the goal soared to unprecedented heights, nearing the million-dollar mark by mere spits! That’s when Shroud dropped a bombshell – the ad revenue generated for the fundraiser, an extra $100,000, hadn’t been factored into the total yet!
Shroud expressed surprise at reaching his goal of a million [as he didn’t expect it], saying “I never thought we’d actually hit it”. He thanked everyone for their tremendous support during this remarkable month, filled with generous donations. He also appreciated the unwavering commitment from everyone, acknowledging your contributions with big W’s. Despite facing numerous setbacks such as hiccups and power outages, they persevered and managed to overcome them in the end.
This past January was nothing short of extraordinary for me, as I embarked on a unique mission to donate a dollar for every “frag” I earned in any game throughout the Fragathon. As the months ticked by, I found myself amassing an incredible 250,000 kills – a record-breaking achievement! It wasn’t just first-person shooter games that kept me busy; I diversified my gaming portfolio, playing Marvel Rivals and VALORANT extensively while also dabbling in other genres to keep the kill count climbing.
During the Fragathon event, streamer shroud showcased more than two dozen games, ranging from a revisit of Counter-Strike to League of Legends, the upcoming Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and Minecraft.
He didn’t have to face challenges on his own; he was joined by his partner Hannah (Bnans), fellow streamer Ludwig, a past CS:GO teammate Skadoodle, and numerous others who contributed to the overall tally with their kill count during the month as Fragathon Partners.
Notably, notable streamers such as Trainwrecks (contributing over $100,000!), Fuslie, TenZ, and recurring donor DrLupo also made generous contributions to the cause.
The community had the opportunity to participate as well: funds amassed from subscriptions or donating bits during shroud’s stream over the past month were combined into the total sum. Additionally, members could donate directly to St. Jude’s, with approximately $500,000 being raised directly by the community.
Last month didn’t go as smoothly as planned for Shroud and Fragathon. Due to the wildfires in Los Angeles, which occurred from December through January, Shroud had to postpone the fundraiser because of power outages and prioritizing the safety of his team.
Shroud to build esports org after million-dollar mark passed
Shroud’s generous contribution of $100,000 in advertising revenue propelled St. Jude’s Charity over the one-million dollar milestone, indicating that an important fundraising target has been achieved.
Shroud declared, “If we reach a million, I’ll establish an esports team, and since we’ve surpassed that number, it’s time to act!” He then pressed the button, signifying they had reached their goal. “Now, I need to start making calls and recruiting people for this organization; let’s get this venture off the ground!
It appears that Shroud hasn’t yet disclosed much information about the organization or the specific games he plans to start working on, but based on his comments during a January 20th stream, it seems that Marvel Rivals could be his initial area of attention.
Additionally, it was disclosed that he had discussions regarding a potential esports partnership with Sentinels CEO Rob Moore. Since then, there hasn’t been much new information due to shroud being occupied with Fragathon, but could this possibly be a step towards shroud acquiring an esports organization?
Over the next few days, we expect to learn more about the situation. Until then, Fragathon donations continue to be accepted: you can contribute to the cause through their Tiltify webpage.
