Michael Bolton Cancels London Show After Brain Surgery
Michael Bolton has announced the cancellation of his forthcoming London performance due to ongoing recovery following brain surgery, as he faces his fight against cancer.
Originally, the renowned musician, who is now 71 years old, was set to take the stage at London’s vast O2 Arena, seating up to 20,000 people, on July 5, 2025.
On a Friday, through an Instagram Story, Bolton declared that he would no longer participate in the show; however, all ticket holders will receive a refund.
In a post, Bolton expressed that he had eagerly anticipated the upcoming show, but he’s still in the process of recovering from a surgery he underwent towards the end of 2023, which was an immediate brain operation.
The When A Man Loves A Woman singer went on to thank fans for their continued support.
Oh boy, I’m absolutely blown away by the love and positivity you’ve showered me with during this past year! I can’t express enough how thankful I am to be surrounded by such incredible, supportive fans worldwide. You all truly make my day brighter!

Almost two months later, it was announced that Bolton had to cancel his concert, a decision made about a year since he joyfully celebrated the festive season with his loved ones following his unexpected brain tumor diagnosis.
In December, he posted a family photo on Facebook, showcasing their joyful holiday decorations and celebratory Christmas spirit, along with sending warm wishes to his followers as they approached the New Year.
On a memorable occasion, the renowned vocalist was seen snug and cheerful, donning a Santa hat, flashing a broad smile while seated next to some of his cherished people as they celebrated the festive day together.
In the photograph, you can see that his house is festively decorated for Christmas, with an elaborately decorated tree visible and numerous presents hinted at in the background.
‘He expressed heartfelt greetings for a festive season overflowing with tranquility, affection, and delight. May the upcoming year grant prosperity, contentment, and numerous precious memories.’
‘Here’s to fresh starts and beautiful moments in 2025!’
In January 2024, it was disclosed that Bolton had been diagnosed with brain cancer prior to the holiday season. This meant that he needed to undergo urgent surgery immediately.
In an open Facebook message, the former contestant of The Masked Singer expressed: “Firstly, I hope you all have a joyous and thriving start to the year! Furthermore, I’d like to disclose that 2023 brought me some rather unforeseen hurdles.
Over the holiday season, it was found out that I had a brain tumor, necessitating an urgent operation.
Full of anticipation and positivity, he commented, ‘Due to the extraordinary skill of my medical professionals, the operation turned out well. Currently, I’m on the road to recovery at home, enveloped in the profound affection and encouragement of my loved ones.’

At that point in time, the artist who made “When a Man Loves a Woman” announced his intention to focus on his personal healing, stating he would spend his time and effort on his recovery. As part of this commitment, he also decided to take a short hiatus from performing live shows.
It’s never easy for me to let down my fans or reschedule a performance, but rest assured that I am putting in extra effort to speed up my recovery so I can get back on stage as quickly as possible.
I’ve always been eager to express my heartfelt appreciation to each one of you. For years, your kindness and unwavering support have left an indelible impact on me.
I want you to know that I’ve been holding onto your uplifting words close to my heart. As soon as I have some new information, I’ll be sure to share it with you. Sending lots of love, MB.
Although Bolton had several shows scheduled for 2024, he decided to cancel some of the ones planned for October due to him not being fully recovered and feeling less than 100%.
