During the recent Critics Choice Awards ceremony on Friday evening, Adam Brody gave an emotional speech dedicated to his wife, Leighton Meester, after receiving his very first award.

In an award ceremony, the actor was honored with the title of Best Actor in a Comedy Series for his performance in the popular Netflix romantic comedy “Nobody Wants This,” where Kristen Bell co-stars.

As a die-hard fan, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I learned that my beloved idol snatched the prestigious comedy award, outshining none other than Steve Martin and Martin Short from Only Murders In The Building. This triumph truly marked an extraordinary resurgence for this heartthrob!

Following the announcement of his name, Brody planted a kiss on Meester before making his way up to the stage. There, he conveyed his deep affection for her and their loved ones in an emotionally stirring address.

For the pair, the victory held a deep emotional resonance since it occurred mere weeks following the destruction of their Pacific Palisades residence by the devastating Los Angeles wildfires.

Brody felt emotional as he honored Meester, whose face beamed with immense pride over her achievement, while she fought to keep her emotions in check among the spectators.

The actor expressed his gratitude by saying, “Oh, my beloved, cherished spouse! I appreciate you deeply. I’m grateful to be on this life’s path and this journey together with you. Our family means everything to me. My love for you is boundless.

Enthusiasts on social media were ecstatic about Brody’s heartfelt address, as numerous users dubbed them the most adorable pair in Tinsel Town.

The streaming service Netflix debuted “Nobody Wants This” in September, and it tells the story of a podcast host specializing in sex matters (Bell), who is agnostic, and a recently single rabbi (Brody) who find themselves falling for each other, as per the description provided by the streaming platform.

The couple needs to determine whether their bond can withstand the contrasting lifestyles they lead and the interference from their intrusive relatives.

In October, the ten-episode series, originally created by David Foster’s daughter Erin, was given the green light for a second season.

At the 2025 Critics Choice Awards, Nobody Wants This garnered three nominations. In addition to Brody being recognized as Best Actor, his co-star Kristen Bell is also nominated for Best Actress in a Comedy Series. The series itself has been honored with a nomination for the Best Comedy Series award.

Prior to his major triumph, Brody and Meester made their first public outing, which took place on the red carpet – an event since they had lost their house.

Leighton looked incredible in a glimmering gold gown with corseted top and magical tulle skirt.

At last, the Critics Choice Awards, overseen by Chelsea Handler, will be happening at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica on Friday, February 7. This event was postponed a total of two times because of the wildfires in Los Angeles.

Initially, the event was scheduled for Sunday, January 12. However, it got rescheduled to Sunday, January 26 instead.

However, as the event location was near the fire-damaged Pacific Palisades, the organizers opted to postpone the event until February instead.

Wicked, Conclave and Shogun lead the nominations.

At the Critics Choice Awards 2025, Wicked secured the highest number of nominations, boasting significant recognition for its lead actors Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. Notably, it shares this honor with Conclave, having both amassed a total of 11 nominations in various categories.

Both Wicked and Conclave are also up for the biggest prize of the night in Best Picture.

In a strong lineup of competitors, the two movies will go head-to-head with films like “A Complete Unknown”, “Anora”, “The Brutalist”, “Dune: Part Two”, “Emilia Pérez”, “The Nickel Boys”, “Sing Sing” and “The Substance”.
