FireAid benefit show will keep streaming for another year
For the next year, the substantial FireAid benefit concert held last week, which amassed a whopping $100 million towards wildfire relief efforts in Los Angeles, will continue to be accessible through various streaming platforms.
On Friday, it was confirmed that the concert held at Inglewood’s Intuit Dome and Kia Forum on January 30 will remain available for streaming on various platforms like Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Max, Netflix, YouTube, and more for another year. This decision is intended to keep fundraising initiatives associated with the event in view of music enthusiasts.
A vast music event featured performances by prominent artists such as Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Green Day, Joni Mitchell, and many others. If it continues to be accessible, it could potentially become recognized alongside iconic charity concerts like the Concert for Bangladesh and LiveAid, whose legendary status as unforgettable live shows remains strong long after the actual events took place.

As a passionate cinephile, I found myself immersed in the vibrant atmosphere of Inglewood’s Intuit Dome and Kia Forum, graced by the FireAid benefit concerts. Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Green Day, and Stevie Wonder, to name a few, were the star-studded lineup that filled these iconic venues with their electrifying performances. It was an unforgettable night of music for a worthy cause.
Furthermore, I’m delighted to share that the generous Ballmer couple, owners of the Clippers, will mirror every donation made during the broadcast, continuing their tradition of doubling funds raised.
Regarding the distribution of the $100 million donations, FireAid organizers explained in a statement that “The FireAid Grants Advisory Committee, made up of experienced philanthropists from the LA region who have strong connections within the non-profit sector, have been diligently working to pinpoint critical areas where aid can make the most difference. Guided by the Annenberg Foundation, this committee has been actively listening to communities affected by the fires, evaluating local resource shortages to ensure help goes to those most in need, and studying how other fire disasters, like those in Maui and Northern California, were managed. It is anticipated that the initial round of grants will be presented by mid-February.

As a passionate cinephile penning down my thoughts, I’m thrilled to share that FireAid has amassed an impressive sum of $100 million, with the count still rising. Not to be outshone, MusiCares and the Grammys have raked in an astounding $24 million. This substantial income was generated not only from their award show telecasts but also through various other charitable activities.
Furthermore, the Recording Academy disclosed they gathered a total of $24 million during Grammy week charity initiatives and related MusiCares activities.
