Phillip Schofield Slams Gino D’Acampo Over Lewd Joke Amid Scandal

The unexpected instance when Philip Schofield criticized Gino D’Acampo for making an overly explicit joke has re-emerged, as the chef now confronts accusations of behavior that is sexually inappropriate and intimidating.

12 years ago, in an iconic clip from This Morning, Gino, aged 48 at the time, is shown preparing a meal alongside the show’s former presenters, Phil, 62, and Holly Willoughby, who was 43 then.

Nevertheless, he seems to provoke his co-star Philip by making a playful remark regarding ‘tough meat’ and ‘making love to one’s spouse’. This led the host to scold the Italian actor live during the broadcast.

The video depicts Philip happily announcing, “We prefer our meat tender,” while he mixes a sauce likely following the directions of the chef, who often conducted cooking demonstrations during the daytime program on ITV.

Gino nods in agreement, saying to the duo, “We wouldn’t prefer that since overcooked meat turns out to be tough meat, correct?

Looking into the camera, Phillip confirmed: ‘Tense meat is a friend to no one!’

Standing beside Holly, Gino added humorously: “I’m not kidding, if you want it smooth, don’t irritate your spouse before intimacy!

‘You want her to be nice and soft!’

At this point, Holly arched an eyebrow without commenting, choosing instead to carry on with her culinary task.

Nevertheless, even though the three of them frequently shared laughs about suggestive remarks, it was clear that Phil found Gino’s remark particularly offensive.

After that, Gino attempted to justify his remarks, but Philip abruptly ended the conversation and steered it elsewhere when he posed the question: “Shall we add salt and pepper here?

Following a series of accusations involving sexually offensive and threatening conduct, an explosive probe conducted by ITV News has uncovered troubling allegations against the Italian chef. However, he maintains his innocence and denies these claims.

On Friday, it was disclosed that ITV has withdrawn Gino D’Acampo’s newest Italian travel series from its future programming lineup, as TopMob uncovered.

I was eagerly anticipating catching two episodes of Gino’s Italy: Secrets of the South on ITVBe this past Sunday from 6pm to 7pm. However, my plans were changed as an episode of Abbey Clancy: Celebrity Homes took its place instead.

Mr. D’Acampo has been under scrutiny for allegations involving inappropriate language, such as the use of sexualized and aggressive speech, on various TV shows like “Gino’s Italian Express,” “Gordon, Gino and Fred’s Road Trip,” “Secrets of South,” “Like Mamma Used to Make,” and “Emission Impossible.

ITV has adjusted its programming to prevent him from appearing on your screens during the upcoming weekends (this weekend and the one following). However, some of his programs will still be accessible through their ITVX streaming platform.

In early 2025, the well-known game show “Family Fortunes,” which is usually presented by Gino, was set to air. However, unexpectedly, all episodes of this series, filmed the previous year, have been cancelled by ITV.

Known for his playful screen character, D’Acampo finds himself in the midst of accusations by numerous individuals who have labeled his reported behavior during the last 12 years as “troubling,” “inappropriate,” and in some cases, “abominable.

Based on ITV News reports, it is known that at least one production company was made aware of recurring concerns regarding D’Acampo’s behavior from team members. Despite this, they chose to collaborate with him on additional television productions.

In 2011, a woman known by the alias Hannah shared an unsettling incident that occurred during a photo session for a magazine.

According to her account, while surrounded by the whole team, D’Acampo allegedly made a sexually explicit remark towards her, stating that he wanted to have sexual intercourse with her anally on the kitchen counter, which left her feeling embarrassed and humiliated.

She recalled a ripple of laughter, as she observed others looking nervous while sipping their tea.)

As Hannah shared, the event left me utterly stunned and filled with dread, yet I must admit I wasn’t taken aback that nobody stepped in.

D’Acampo has firmly denied all allegations, calling them ‘deeply upsetting.’ 

His legal representatives stated: “This accusation, nearly 15 years old, was never previously brought up or presented to Mr. D’Acampo. He cannot remember it and denies that the incident occurred.

According to a previous coworker’s assertion, in the year 2019, D’Acampo is said to have forcefully confronted a young team member about an ice cream incident.

A witness reported that during the incident, Gino made the threat to the runner saying, “If you don’t bring me an ice cream cone (Cornetto), I will harm your girlfriend,” when speaking to ITV News.

Another crew member who witnessed the incident said the remark had ‘stuck in my head for years.’

‘He was using his power to bully and intimidate us,’ she said. ‘For what? A cookery programme.’

Representatives for D’Acampo stated that he was deeply embarrassed by the allegation and has no recollection of this specific event whatsoever.

A separate claim relates to the filming of Gordon, Gino and Fred’s Road Trip in 2018.

Lena reminisced about a situation where he bluntly declared, “I don’t feel well this morning,” in an exasperated tone. (Maintaining a polite and professional language.)

A fellow team member asserted that D’Acampo uttered an inappropriate remark concerning a female coworker’s bust, supposedly stating something like: “He is said to have commented on her bust.

‘Shouldn’t we be talking about her t**? They’re perfect, like a mouthful.’

Back in 2018, it’s been uncovered that Objective Media Group, producers of Gordon, Gino, and Fred, had already received complaints regarding D’Acampo at that time.

A woman who was employed at Gino’s Italian Express shared with ITV News that his friendly and charming demeanor helps him blend in unnoticed. Whenever I spot him on television, I feel compelled to step away from the room.

In a denial of the accusations made against him, D’Acampo, known for his boisterous persona and substantial wealth in the millions, stands firm.

According to his legal representatives, no one has ever explicitly accused Mr. D’Acampo of making the alleged statements. He does not remember making such comments and denies that they were said by him at all.

ITV News obtained emails dating back to December 2024 that expressed worries about D’Acampo’s conduct to the Objective Media Group.

Responding to this, the company acknowledged they had addressed his behavior outside the set with him and provided tailored training.

ITV unequivocally states: Such conduct is not accepted by ITV.

Due to concerns about how past issues were managed by ITV and production firms, the upcoming trajectory of Gino D’Acampo’s television profession is currently unclear.

For now, the celebrity chef insists he has been unfairly accused. 

In response to claims made against him, Gino D’Acampo told ITV News that he has been informed by ITN that accusations exist concerning his behavior, with some incidents reportedly occurring more than a decade ago.

I wasn’t informed about these issues before, and I strongly refute the accusations. I strive to avoid causing discomfort or pain to others, as it goes against my character. These circumstances do not align with my understanding of the situation.

Apart from the fact that these accusations were never brought up against me previously, I’ve consistently received backing from top-tier executives, and I was even featured on prime-time shows during the timeframe when my behavior is supposedly under scrutiny.

As a dad, spouse, and professional who has collaborated with over 1,500 individuals across approximately 80 projects throughout my career, I am incredibly proud of these accomplishments. Any insinuation that I’ve behaved inappropriately fills me with great distress.
