You Won’t Believe What Vin Diesel Did Next…
Iconic Fast & Furious stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, and Ludacris have come together once more for the production of a new Häagen-Dazs Super Bowl commercial entitled ‘Slow Down, Not So Fast, Not So Furious.’
In a brief 30-second video, the 57-year-old American actor and his 46-year-old co-star are spotted driving along the coast in an original Chevy Camaro, modeled by Chevrolet.
At the beginning, the camerawork suggests viewers are in for a high-speed adventure.
Yet, the scene changes swiftly when the camera focuses on Michelle, gently unveiling a scoop of Vanilla Milk Chocolate Almond Ice Cream.
With the soothing melodies of Smokey Robinson resonating, the duo is taken aback as rapper Ludacris, at 47 years old, suddenly appears behind them, arriving in a spacious, open-roof Jeep Gladiator.
Looking rather agitated, Ludacris questions the pair, “Hey, what gave with the slow pace today?” To this, Vin offers a smile and simply replies, “Not in our plans for today.
He then cranks up the radio as the title ‘NOT SO FAST, NOT SO FURIOUS’ appears on screen.
On Monday, Vin posted an exclusive backstage video for his fans, displaying him and Michelle capturing the advertisement on camera.
In the caption, he reflected on the Fast & Furious franchise’s history in Los Angeles.
Twenty-five years ago, on the bustling streets of Los Angeles, we fashioned something that grew beyond anything we could have envisioned. It wasn’t merely a film, but a bond that spans continents and unites us as one global family.
Driving along the Pacific Coast Highway for this Super Bowl commercial was a powerful reminder of the past. This very road was the scene of a car race between me and Pablo [Paul Walker] twenty-five years back. Those were ordinary drives, but they would lead to moments that would redefine our lives.
During filming, the actor emphasized the importance of the setting, pointing out that it brought him together with local crew members he hadn’t worked with in a long time and Michelle as well.
He commented: ‘It feels right for Fast to return to LA. It isn’t solely due to the fact that it’s our hometown, but rather because LA embodies who we truly are.’
‘Now, seeing our city hurting after these devastating fires, that pull is stronger than ever…’
Vin expressed gratitude to fans for their support throughout the years, stating, “This one is dedicated to each fan who has been a part of our long voyage – thank you.
We’ll be returning to our initial home, dear Los Angeles – it’s where our heart lies. The engines are roaring, our loved ones are assembling, and the streets are beckoning us back home.
He found himself reflecting: ‘At the site of our renowned quarter-mile races with Brian, where each sunset carries a tale. It seems the story is looping back, and my heart is already beating faster…’
Earlier, it was mentioned that the choice to film Fast X: Part 2 in Los Angeles was inspired by a personal appeal from fellow actor Jordana Brewster.
In simple terms, the next movie in the Fast & Furious saga, which is number 11, continues directly from where Fast X (set for release in 2023) ended. There’s a lot of buzz that this film could mark the conclusion of the entire series.
However, the release date for Fast X: Part 2 has not yet been announced.
