The highly anticipated 5-star character, Aglaea, is now available with the Version 3.0 update in Honkai: Star Rail. A Lightning character on the Path of Remembrance, this guide will provide a comprehensive analysis of Aglaea’s skills and suggest optimal configurations to maximize her potential in gameplay.

Aglaea Gameplay

Aglaea is a character who fights more like a summoner, relying on the aid of Garmentmaker in combat. Her abilities primarily deal with lightning damage, providing speed boosts, and amplifying attacks when she’s in Supreme Stance. Proper management of Garmentmaker’s duration and strategically timing her Ultimate are essential for maximizing Aglaea’s power.

Basic Attack

Aglaea possesses two distinct types of attacks. The initial one, known as “Thorned Nectar,” functions as a basic assault, inflicting electrical damage on a single foe. Yet, when she’s in her empowered form, she employs “Slash by a Thousandfold Kiss,” which transforms into a stronger combined attack with Garmentmaker.

This assault inflicts greater electrical damage primarily on the primary target, but also causes some harm to foes in close proximity. Yet, it’s crucial to note that this powerful strike does not yield Skill Points, positioning it as a destructive burst choice rather than an ability she can frequently use without restraint.

Skill

Aglaea’s ability primarily revolves around either bringing forth or mending the Garmentmaker, should it already be in the arena. If the Garmentmaker is absent from the battlefield, this skill promptly summons it into combat and lets Aglaea take her turn immediately, ensuring that she always has her summon ready without having to wait excessively long.

Ultimate

Her peak ability showcases her complete capability. Once engaged, it either calls forth Garmentmaker (if not already present) or completely restores it, positioning Aglaea in a highly potent stance known as the Supreme Position. In this empowered status:

  • She gets speed boosts based on Garmentmaker’s talent.
  • Her Basic Attack changes to Slash by a Thousandfold Kiss (the powerful joint attack).
  • She cannot use her Skill, meaning she has to rely on her enhanced Basic Attack.
  • Garmentmaker becomes immune to crowd control, preventing it from being stunned or frozen.
  • A countdown timer appears – if the Ultimate is not used again before the countdown ends, Garmentmaker self-destructs, and Aglaea’s enhanced state ends.

Talent and Technique

Her skill as a Garmentmaker significantly boosts her power. It begins by granting a portion of Aglaea’s Speed and Health, making it proportionate to her stats. With the Garmentmaker activated, Aglaea’s attacks cause an “Seam Stitch” effect on enemies. Enemies affected by this status will sustain additional Electrical damage when attacked.

Yet, this ability affects solely the last foe she assaulted, implying that she can’t spread it among several adversaries simultaneously. Moreover, one of her bonuses for Traces enables her to replenish Energy at the onset of battle if it falls below half, aiding her in reaching her Ultimate quicker.

In peaceful moments, Aglaea possesses a unique ability to call upon Garmentmaker for a surprise attack prior to any engagement. This tactic not only restores her Energy but also unleashes a bolt of Lightning damage on all adversaries and imposes the Seam Stitch debuff on a randomly selected foe, enhancing her power from the very first moments of battle.

Garmentmaker (Memosprite)

The clothing manufacturer operates as a self-contained entity, boasting its unique mechanics for Basic Attack, Talents, and Speed. Its attack, Thorned Snare, discharges Lightning damage onto the primary target while also inflicting lesser harm on surrounding adversaries. The clothing manufacturer’s Talent, A Body Brewed by Tears, enhances its speed each time it attacks an enemy under the Seam Stitch effect.

This speed enhancement can accumulate up to six layers, significantly increasing Garmentmaker’s speed in combat. Furthermore, it will autonomously execute its attack whenever it’s its turn, focusing on opponents marked with Seam Stitch. Additionally, several additional effects make Garmentmaker an even more valuable asset in battle.

  • The Speeding Summer: When Garmentmaker is summoned, it immediately acts next.
  • Bloom of Drying Grass: When Garmentmaker disappears, it restores 20 Energy to Aglaea, helping her use her Ultimate again sooner.
  • Last Thread of Fate: If Garmentmaker disappears, one stack of its Speed boost can be saved and carried over when it is resummoned.

When leveling Aglaea’s abilities, prioritize Skill > Memosprite > Talent > Ultimate > Basic Attack

Traces

  • The Myopic’s Doom: While in Supreme Stance, Aglaea and Garmentmaker’s ATK increases by an amount equal to 720% of Aglaea’s SPD + 360% of Garmentmaker’s SPD. This is a massive damage boost that makes Aglaea scale with Speed instead of just ATK. Since Garmentmaker naturally gains SPD stacks, this Trace ensures both Aglaea and Garmentmaker deal even more damage.
  • Last Thread of Fate: When Garmentmaker disappears, one stack of SPD Boost from its Talent can be retained. When Garmentmaker is resummoned, it immediately regains that SPD Boost. Helps Garmentmaker get back up to speed quickly after being resummoned. Reduces the downtime of speed stacking, so Aglaea doesn’t have to rebuild all of Garmentmaker’s SPD boosts from scratch.
  • The Speeding Sol: At the start of the battle, if Aglaea’s Energy is below 50%, she regenerates Energy until it reaches 50%. Helps Aglaea use her Ultimate faster, meaning she can enter Supreme Stance sooner. Reduces the need for external Energy regeneration from allies or gear.

Among her Traces, priority should be The Myopic’s Doom > The Speeding Sol > Last Thread of Fate

Honkai Star Rail Aglaea Best Light Cone

Time Woven Into Gold (Aglaea 5* Light Cone)The best Light Cone for Aglaea is Time Woven Into Gold. This Light Cone provides a +12 Speed boost, allowing her to take turns more frequently. More importantly, every time Aglaea or her Memosprite attacks, she gains a stack of Brocade, which increases her CRIT DMG by 9% per stack, stacking up to six times (for a total of 54% CRIT DMG).

Once she reaches the max stacks, her Basic Attack deals 54% more damage, making it a perfect choice for a high-speed, high-crit Aglaea build. However, since it requires multiple turns to reach max stacks, it doesn’t provide an immediate power spike at the start of the battle.

Memory’s Curtain Never Falls (5*)If you want to balance damage and team utility, Memory’s Curtain Never Falls is a strong choice. It provides 6% extra Speed, helping her take turns slightly faster, but its main strength is the teamwide 8% DMG boost for three turns after she uses her Skill.

This means that not only does Aglaea deal more damage, but her entire team benefits as well. However, since this Light Cone doesn’t directly improve her own Crit or Basic ATK scaling, it’s better suited for a supportive hybrid role rather than a pure DPS Aglaea.

Sweat Now, Cry Less (4*)For burst damage and immediate impact, Sweat Now, Cry Less is a fantastic choice. This Light Cone boosts her CRIT Rate by 12%, which makes her crits more frequent and reliable. Additionally, while her Memosprite is on the field, she and the Memosprite deal 24% more damage, making this one of the highest raw damage multipliers available.

Unlike Time Woven Into Gold, this Light Cone doesn’t require ramping up stacks, meaning Aglaea can deal more damage from the very beginning. The main downside is that this Light Cone is locked behind the Battle Pass, making it unavailable for free-to-play players.

Geniuses’ Greetings (4*)Geniuses’ Greetings is the weakest option for Aglaea’s damage output. It provides a 16% ATK boost, which is useful, but it doesn’t scale as well as Crit-based Light Cones.

Additionally, after using her Ultimate, her Basic ATK gains a 20% DMG increase for three turns, which is decent, but still much weaker than the 54% boost from Time Woven Into Gold. This Light Cone is only worth using if you have no better alternatives.

Victory In a Blink (4*)For F2P players, Victory In a Blink is an accessible and decent alternative. It increases Aglaea’s Crit DMG by 12% and provides a teamwide 8% DMG boost whenever her Memosprite uses an ability on an ally.

While this is useful, it doesn’t boost Aglaea’s Speed or Basic ATK directly, making it less impactful than other choices. It’s still a reasonable option if you don’t have access to premium Light Cones, but it’s not as strong as Time Woven Into Gold or Sweat Now, Cry Less.

Best Team Comps for Aglaea in Honkai Star Rail

In this Honkai: Star Rail Aglaea Build Strategy, the optimal team setup largely centers around the character named Sunday. His abilities harmonize exceptionally well with Aglaea’s, offering substantial boosts, energy replenishment, and frequent action progression. This results in both Aglaea and Garmentmaker taking extra turns at a rapid pace, accumulating stacks swiftly.

Granting 70 energy to Aglaea each time he uses his ultimate allows her to utilize her ultimate more quickly, keeping her in the Supreme Stance longer. Combining Sunday with Robin increases the team’s efficiency as Robin’s action advances enable both Sunday and Aglaea to rotate faster. Furthermore, Aglaea’s area-of-effect buffs have minimal downtime, making her an excellent support for Aglaea.

Option three, named Remembrance MC (RMC), is another fantastic pick because of its True DMG enhancements that benefit both Aglaea and her Memosprite. This helps overcome potential Attack saturation problems. Combining RMC with Sunday can be potent, but their synergy might lead to Aglaea missing out on certain buffs if the sequence isn’t timed correctly. However, if Sunday is not available, a strong substitute is pairing Robin with RMC, given that Huohuo is part of the team to fulfill Aglaea’s energy requirements.

If a player doesn’t have Robin or their Master of Ceremonies is busy elsewhere, Bronya can serve as an effective support character. She synergizes particularly well with Sunday, consistently moving him forward, which means more turns for Aglaea and Garmentmaker. This accelerates energy accumulation and helps Aglaea reach her maximum stacks quicker.

Every Sunday brings about an Aglaea turn, which, given Bronya’s ability to repeat Sunday’s turn, results in a rapid-fire damage cycle that keeps Aglaea in her strongest form for extended periods. In some cases, Aglaea’s frequent turns and Memosprite acting as a secondary target for enemy attacks reduce the need for a dedicated sustain unit. In teams focused solely on dealing damage, Aglaea can operate effectively without a healer, particularly when paired with Sunday, Robin, and either Bronya or RMC.

When the necessity for sustainability arises, Huohuo proves to be an outstanding choice. Her ultimate ability regenerates a percentage of energy for the entire team, which is incredibly beneficial for Aglaea as it enables her to use her ultimate more frequently. In addition, if Sunday is part of the team, this energy regeneration becomes even more efficient. Since Aglaea’s frequent turns mean she doesn’t heavily depend on skill points, Huohuo can utilize her skill more frequently, enhancing her energy production. Gallagher also emerges as a viable sustainable option, particularly considering that Aglaea teams often have an abundance of skill points.

Final Thoughts

Aglaea’s equipment stands out for its effectiveness in fast-paced, tactically complex team configurations, making her a formidable presence in the current game environment. Her knack for swiftly transitioning between turns, boosting damage with the Supreme Stance, and leveraging both her attacks and those of her Memosprite allies gives her an edge as a potent Damage Per Second (DPS) choice. When paired with suitable support, she achieves optimal performance, maintaining a high level of activity in her strongest form while keeping up a relentless pace that leaves opponents overpowered.

As a gamer, I’ve found that Aglaea truly shines in well-oiled, heavy-investment teams. Yet, her adaptability makes her just as effective in less conventional setups. She excels particularly in situations where we can leverage her frequent turns and Memosprite’s durability. With future content leaning towards swift battles and multi-strike synergies, Aglaea’s distinctive mechanics, rapid growth, and versatile team possibilities will undoubtedly cement her status as a top-tier DPS in the ever-evolving meta.
