Helen Flanagan Opens Up on Frazzled Mom Life, Weight Gain, and Struggles with Body Image

Helena Flanagan openly acknowledged that managing the responsibilities of her trio of kids has left her in a state of exhaustion, which she conveyed by posting an honest photograph during her motherly duties on a recent Thursday.

Previously known for her role on Coronation Street, the 34-year-old woman has children Matilda (age 9), Delilah (age 6), and Charlie (age 3) with her former soccer player partner, Scott Sinclair.

Star, currently dating Robbie Talbot, recently updated her followers via her Instagram Story on a Thursday.

The stunning woman wrote in her caption: ‘I haven’t shared much lately, as I’ve been keeping busy with the little ones.’

She candidly added as she shared the selfie to her social media: ‘Here’s a nice pic of my chins.’

After some previous events this week, Helen shared an open post while laughing over her recent weight increase and flaunting her stunning physique in a deep-cut pink swimsuit that caused quite the stir.

Over the weekend, I savored a precious child-free getaway and shared an honest moment with my followers on Instagram. I confessed that I’d brought along clothes that no longer snuggle quite so tightly, a testament to my recent lifestyle changes.

In a playful pink bikini with a deep neckline, she shared a selfie in front of a mirror, adding some amused emojis. Her caption read: “I’ve added a few extra pounds lately, but luckily I brought a variety of evening dresses since some of the ones I packed that typically fit me now won’t close.

For the nighttime, she later posted a video showcasing her stunning appearance in a shimmering mini dress with a square neckline and delicate gold buttons, all in a soft pink hue.

In the dress by Lavish Alice, Helen gleamed with joy as she titled the post: ‘A Rare Night Out Without the Kids’.

Over the weekend, the actress revealed her honest feelings about her body image, confessing that she struggled with an eating disorder during her teenage years, followed by this revelation.

Additionally, Helen acknowledged that she’s been using a hormonal equilibrium supplement from Rheal Superfoods to assist with her Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD).

She shared with her audience: “I recently underwent a hormone test through @hertility, as I’m genuinely curious about where I stand regarding my hormones. I understand that you can experience peri-menopause from age 35, and since I turn 35 this summer, I thought it would be insightful to know.

I have a keen interest in understanding hormonal processes, especially as they relate to my own body, given my experiences with PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder) and recurring Hyperemesis Gravidarum during three pregnancies.

On Sunday, Helen posted an old photo of herself nursing her son, Charlie, as she’s now revealed that she’s only just started incorporating bread and pasta into her diet again after abstaining for a couple of years.

Last month, Helen mentioned that due to her participating in Dry January, she found herself gaining weight since the restriction on alcohol seemed to trigger an increase in her desire for snacks.

However, she ended her sincere message with this reflection: ‘As women, we seldom find happiness; instead, there’s often something to scrutinize. Yet, as we grow older, it seems pleasant to simply grow more at ease with our own selves.’

She titled the picture: “I gained some weight this January, participated in Dry January, I joined my boyfriend in it because…

Reflecting upon my drinking patterns, I couldn’t help but acknowledge that they might need improvement. Reducing my alcohol intake has inadvertently left me with a stronger urge for snacking, but I’m learning to navigate this change gracefully.

She mentioned that she reintroduced bread and pasta into her diet this month, after avoiding them for approximately two years. Although her eating habits might seem unusual at times (due to an eating disorder she had during her teenage years), she’s making an effort to manage it.

As women, it seems like there’s always room for improvement instead of genuine happiness, but as we grow older, it can be quite satisfying to simply feel at ease with ourselves.

This year marks my 35th birthday, and I believe that, regardless of whether we choose to undergo surgery or not, it’s crucial for us as women to support one another. Ultimately, whatever decision brings happiness should be embraced.

In October, the actress shared that she had recently started consuming bread again, as she had been battling an eating disorder since she turned 16 years old.

On The Mail’s The Life of Bryony podcast, she shared that around the age of 16, she had an unhealthy fixation on weighing seven stone, despite her natural slenderness.

In the company of numerous actresses and models, they were all participating in photo sessions. I found myself yearning to emulate them. My meals were scarcely touched.

Helen mentioned that both the school nurse and the producers of Coronation Street would contact her mother at that specific moment.

‘I remember kind of like school nurse being involved and like Coronation Street,’ she said.

In simpler terms, they contacted my mother to relay the message, “Helen, you’re at risk of losing your job.” This situation seemed to give them a feeling of control.

She said she now tries to eat healthily because of her daughter, but still struggles.

‘I think if you have an eating disorder, it always stays with you,’ she said.

To be completely candid, I believe there are areas where my diet could use improvement, but I consider myself healthy due to my constant vigilance over my daughter.

I believe it’s beneficial for me to have Matilda, as I want to set a positive example for her. I wouldn’t want her to develop an eating disorder because it can be incredibly challenging. Recently, I’ve begun eating bread again after avoiding it for some time.

After the breakup with my former fiancé, I found myself developing some unusual eating habits. Suddenly, I stopped consuming bread and pasta, and I started having these peculiar food preferences.

After our split, I unexpectedly developed aversions to bread and pasta, and I began to display some odd choices when it came to my meals.
