Watch: ‘Sesame Street’ stars Oscar the Grouch, Bert and Grover give L.A. ‘a big hug’
1
LA is facing some challenging times, as a friend once said on “Sesame Street,” we can overcome this hardship together.
Last week, a few iconic characters from the beloved kids’ show, including Oscar the Grouch, Bert, and Grover, dropped by the Los Angeles Times for an interview with Nicholas Ducassi on his show “Very Important Questions.” Although we expected (and appreciated) a playful, enjoyable chat with these cherished childhood figures, it served as a gentle reminder of the importance of discussing deep emotions and supporting each other, especially during tough times. The focus on emotional health is indeed the main theme of this year’s season of “Sesame Street,” which launched in January.
Following the tragic wildfires from last month, the city and numerous residents are struggling with grief over their losses while simultaneously seeking answers about the future and how to rebuild. However, amidst this heartache lies hope and optimism – a lesson frequently taught by “Sesame Street”.
As a passionate film lover, I’d find it difficult to actually embrace everyone right now, but in spirit, let me tell you, Los Angeles, that I am giving you a big hug! You’re an incredible city, and I have no doubt that you will overcome whatever challenges you are facing. Remember, you’ve got the strength, superpowers, and resilience to tackle anything life throws at you. Yes, you can do it, LA!
Yes, we can.
Bert emphasized the importance of supporting one another – neighbors, friends, and the community at large,” he explained. “After all, while we might misplace things like paper clips or bottle caps, what truly matters is the connections we share with each other.
Regardless of the circumstances, we’re there for one another. This serves as a constant reminder that our loved ones, whether human or four-legged, have the power to propel us forward, united in our journey.
