Blizzard shares World of Warcraft 2025 plans: Player housing, Midnight expansion, and more
Here is what World of Warcraft’s executive producer had to say about the game’s plans for 2025.
The executive producer of World of Warcraft, Holly Longdale, has given an update on the game’s plan up until 2025. This includes details about housing in the Midnight expansion, improvements to the overall experience for new players, and other aspects. Furthermore, she mentioned the upcoming release of World of Warcraft Classic: Mists of Pandaria.
World of Warcraft roadmap features player housing
The upcoming segment of the Worldsoul Saga within World of Warcraft, titled “Midnight,” is fast approaching, and in a recent update, Longdale disclosed that the development team plans to collaborate with the gaming community to create unique housing experiences for this expansion. This collaboration will be based on three key principles emphasizing personal creativity, fostering social interaction, and ensuring that housing remains a lasting aspect of the game.
She expressed that housing isn’t just an aspect for us, but rather it holds significant importance. Furthermore, she emphasized that the World of Warcraft community plays a crucial part in designing homes within Azeroth. She reassured that their attention is always attuned to you, as the process of returning home starts with your input.
World of Warcraft Midnight and The Last Titan updates
As a devoted follower, I’m thrilled to share that in a recent update, the World of Warcraft team is focusing on making the game more inviting for newcomers and those returning. Their aim is to simplify the journey, ensuring it’s smooth sailing for both the Midnight and The Last Titan expansions.
She acknowledged that creating a genuinely warm and inviting environment for our fresh and recurring players in modern World of Warcraft demands considerable effort. We’re dedicated to this task and plan to make enhancements in ‘Midnight’ and ‘The Last Titan.’ It’s important to be upfront—this is a lengthy process, an ongoing journey that continues as the game adapts with every expansion. There’s no immediate solution, but we’re ready for it.
Mists of Pandaria Classic, more improvements, and new social initiative
Regarding additional changes, the post highlighted user interface and user experience enhancements as well as a sneak peek at World of Warcraft Classic: Mists of Pandaria. Longdale announced that the design team is preparing for players to revisit this location. At present, players can anticipate more Season of Discovery content.
Regarding the latest social project, it aligns with others like player homes and updates. Enhanced in-game networking and seamless linking to popular social networks outside the game are two instances among many improvements.
It’s already been two decades of World of Warcraft, and even though time seems to pass quickly, the precious moments we’ve shared together are invaluable. We’re eager to keep contributing to these cherished memories and can hardly wait to share more with you as we lay the groundwork for the next 20 years – and beyond!” said Longdale.
