Rooster Teeth returns as original founder acquires brand
Rooster Teeth returns under the ownership of its original co-founder, Burnie Burns, who has successfully secured the rights to the cherished brand.
The initial, straightforward post about “butts” sparked enthusiasm among everyone. Soon after, this excitement intensified with a press announcement. The content of that announcement revealed that Burnie Burns had obtained the rights to Rooster Teeth, which is now under Box Canyon Production’s control.
A business that closed about a year back has reopened, now under the leadership of its founding member once more. Fans of classic machinima, amusing let’s play sessions, and other side-splittingly funny content can celebrate the comeback of the minds behind Red vs. Blue.
Rooster Teeth is back in the hands of Burnie Burns
After nearly two decades filled with joyous giggles, Rooster Teeth, a company located in Austin, Texas, decided to call it quits in March 2024, wrapping up operations by mid-May of the same year.
Later on, the general manager, Jordan Levin, informed the staff about the shutdown, explaining that changes in consumer habits and revenue strategies were the main culprits. During this period, some of the company’s assets were either sold or vanished altogether.
By February 2025, Michael “Burnie” Burns, the co-founder, ex-CEO, and ex-Chief Content Officer, will once again have control over Rooster Teeth. With Box Canyon Productions under his belt, he has managed to reclaim the rights to RT.
