Lou Sanders shared a story about spending £450 on a magic wand, after a healer promised it would make her look beautiful.
Comedian and ‘Last One Laughing’ star, 47, appeared on the ‘Spent’ podcast with host Matt Edmondson to discuss her sometimes wild spending. She admitted to purchases like a magic wand that she hasn’t quite found the time to use yet.
On the podcast, Lou shared one of her most unusual purchases: a magic wand. She quickly clarified it wasn’t meant as anything other than a literal wand.
Matt replied: ‘Tell me more.’
Lou continued: It’s a magic wand that one of my healers’ husband said, “buy this magic wand”.
It cost around 450 pounds, which is pretty pricey. There are cheaper, imitation versions available from China, and I actually asked him if I should buy one of those. He thought I was crazy and insisted I get the real thing.
I ended up buying one. It’s basically a hair dryer, but it has crystals inside. I saw a bunch of videos, mostly from Korean women, who claimed it was a beauty secret – a ‘magic wand’ for your face.
Wanting further clarification, Matt asked: ‘What is its purpose?’
Lou admitted he wasn’t familiar with the topic, explaining he hadn’t researched it enough to discuss it seriously. He also added that since he wasn’t currently using it, he wasn’t the best person to ask.
Matt then asked: ‘Is it called a magic wand?’
Lou seemed hesitant, replying, ‘It’s called a… a vibrational injury, I think. It has something to do with vibrations and frequencies.’
Matt asked: ‘Does it plug in?’
Lou responded, surprised, admitting he had used it a few times before. He’d misplaced it, but recently rediscovered it in a box, which he considered a lucky find.
She said she’d put the item away, adding that it was good to know she had it for when things were chaotic. She planned to return to her bedroom and establish a regular routine, hoping that would help her feel better.
Matt asked: ‘What are we hoping it will do?’
Lou agreed, saying, ‘Alright, try to heal me – make me feel better. It sounds like this would be really helpful if I were injured. I’ll test it out and let you know how it goes.’
Lou appeared in the first season of Last One Laughing UK, which debuted on Amazon Prime Video in 2025.
She was a comedian on the show, where contestants tried to make each other laugh without smiling or reacting.
Just last month, the comedy show ‘Last One Laughing’ announced it’s been renewed for a third season, shortly after the latest episodes became available on Prime Video.
The second series debuted on March 19, with a whole host of much-loved comedians taking part.
The show puts a group of comedians together in a small space for six hours, challenging them to make each other laugh.
Once a contestant has laughed twice, they are eliminated from the contest.
The Sun reports that filming for the third season will start in the spring and premiere next year. A special episode is also planned for Halloween.
According to a source close to the show, ‘Last One Laughing’ has become a major hit in the last year, so it’s no surprise that the network has ordered more episodes.
However, nobody anticipated that they would announce both a new season and a special episode would be released in the same year.
I’m absolutely convinced that the show is building such a huge following, the comedian they get for the third series will be unbelievably talented – seriously, it’s going to be amazing!
Tara Erer, head of Amazon, explained that the show has been successful in over 20 countries and consistently attracts a large audience wherever it’s launched.
We were confident things would go well in the UK, but we were pleasantly surprised by just how much it took off.
Asked if it will keep coming back, she added: ‘That’s the goal.
‘I think it can go on and on and keep the quality at the level that we started with.’
Furthermore, both series to date have been presented by Jimmy Carr and Roisin Conaty.
The very first show was won by Bob Mortimer, who beat Richard Ayoade in a close and exciting final round.
Bob, age 66, is back for the second season to try and stay champion, but he’ll be facing a new set of competitors.
The lineup features talented comedians like Alan Carr, David Mitchell, Romesh Ranganathan, Diane Morgan, Mel Giedroyc, Maisie Adam, Gbemsiola Ikumelo, Amy Gledhill, and Sam Campbell.
The cast for the show’s second season was announced last year, and fans immediately shared their excitement on X, previously known as Twitter.
People were excited about the impressive group of performers, with one person calling it ‘Epic’ and another predicting Romesh Ranganathan would be fantastic.
Seriously, this show is just… everything. I genuinely think it’s the greatest thing ever made! And Bob? Oh my gosh, Bob is incredible. He deserves to stay on top, he’s the absolute best! All hail King Bob, honestly!
People are predicting the upcoming comedy match between David Mitchell and Bob will be legendary. One commenter praised the lineup, specifically warning people to brace themselves for Sam Campbell’s performance.
Oh my gosh, I’m seriously buzzing! The first season was absolutely incredible, and honestly, this new lineup? It looks like it’s going to be just as amazing, if not better! I can barely contain my excitement!
