tWitch’s Widow Shuts Down Rumors About Ellen DeGeneres Relationship
Allison Holker, wife of the late Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss, is dispelling rumors suggesting a decline in his friendship with Ellen DeGeneres following the end of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
The individual who took his life in December 2022 at the age of 40 initially joined the daytime talk show in 2014, where he functioned as DeGeneres’ DJ and co-host until its termination in May 2022 following allegations of a ‘toxic workplace’ environment surrounding the show.
I graced the stage on my ex-boss’s show, Ellen’s Game of Games, serving as the announcer for four thrilling seasons. Unfortunately, the series came to an end in January 2022 when it was canceled.
After his unfortunate passing, I found myself pondering whether my beloved Boss and DeGeneres may have experienced a shift in their bond, given that both of their shows concluded around the same time.
However, Holker emphatically asserted to PEOPLE on Tuesday that the speculations were false, and he emphasized that Boss and DeGeneres’ relationship remained strong and unique.
Or:
Holker made it clear to PEOPLE on Tuesday that the rumors were unfounded, and he underscored the fact that there was no wavering in the extraordinary bond between Boss and DeGeneres.
She expressed displeasure about the spreading of unfounded gossip, finding it particularly upsetting when people attempted to involve Ellen and accuse her unfairly. However, she clarified that these allegations were baseless. This statement was made during an interview as she marketed her recently published memoir titled “This Far”.
She characterized DeGeneres, having just relocated from Los Angeles to London, as ‘marvelous,’ and disclosed that the comedian served as ‘a source of support’ for the Boss.
Holker praised Ellen, stating that she’s been fantastic and has acted as a strong support system for her. In fact, Ellen has served as an exceptional role model for Stephen.
They shared a wonderful connection, and he cherished their relationship deeply. There was an exceptional bond between them that felt incredibly unique.
The mother of three finished by expressing her hope that everyone would understand that the connection we have should not be destroyed.
Ellen DeGeneres was present at the celebration of life held by Boss in Los Angeles, which took place in February 2023, only two months following his unexpected demise at the age of 40.
On the day that would have been her boss’s 42nd birthday, she shared a picture of herself and the DJ on Instagram, with the message: “I think of you daily.
Ellen DeGeneres honored her late friend and former colleague on the second anniversary of his passing, which fell on December 13, 2024, by paying him a heartfelt tribute last year.
On Instagram, the talk-show host posted: ‘No matter where I am, you’re always with me. I adore you, tWitch.’ She added a picture she snapped of a verdant field dotted with trees.
Following his 2014 appearance as a guest DJ on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Boss eventually established himself as a regular feature on the popular talk show, which spanned an impressive 19 seasons on NBC.
By 2020, Boss became one of the show’s co-executive producers.
In her recently published memoir, Holker asserted that The Ellen DeGeneres Show provided her husband with a sense of structure and rhythm during his struggle with mental health concerns.
In her book, as reported by Collider, Holker states that she didn’t find the conclusion of the show disruptive since he still had his job. There was no reduction in work for him.
We’ve been juggling multiple projects at once, which caused quite a change in Stephen’s daily schedule. For nearly a decade, that show provided the framework and rhythm for his days.
‘No longer bound to a schedule, Stephen had more time to spend inside his head.’
It is sad to report that our boss was discovered deceased on December 13, 2022, in room 249 of the Oak Tree Inn. The authorities have concluded that his death was a result of suicide, as they believe he took his own life with a gunshot wound to the head.
In her autobiography, Holker expressed her intention to buy and demolish the motel in Encino, California, where Boss ended his life over two years ago.
One day, truthfully speaking, that motel will no longer be here, states the 36-year-old woman who shares three children with her late husband of nine years – daughter Weslie, 16 (adopted by Boss); son Maddox, eight; and daughter Zaia, five.
As a committed advocate, I myself haven’t fully figured out the specific strategies yet, but the eventual demolition of the tragic site continues to be a significant long-term objective on my agenda.
In her provocative memoir, the So You Think You Can Dance personality declared that she’s determined to acquire and demolish an object, regardless of the price tag, and potentially construct a stunning dance studio on the site instead.
In the book that details the conflict between Boss’ family and Holker, the widow of the star stated that after her partner’s passing, it became clear to her that Stephen was attempting to contact her and their household residing in Encino, a location not far from the motel where he died. This home served as a medium through which she believed he was trying to communicate.
In November 2023, just under a year since her husband passed away, Holker shared in her book that the spirit of her deceased husband was profoundly sensed within their home.
Each evening, we followed our regular routine of relaxing in the hot tub, gazing at the stars, and engaging in conversation with Stephen, as Holker described in the book. We sensed his powerful electromagnetic aura not only above us in the night sky but also within the lights that seemed to react to our questions and comments directed towards him.
‘It was a metaphysical connection that we cherished – until we didn’t.’
Over time, I noticed a distinct change in the overall vibe within our home, and this transformation seemed to have a significant effect on the actions of my two younger kids.
According to Holker, Maddox and Zaia, who usually got along well, suddenly began showing signs of constant disagreement. Strangely enough, he added, the power supply also became erratic, malfunctioning without any apparent reason. Whenever Weslie or I entered a room and flipped the switch, the light would simply refuse to come on.
Holker stated, ‘It might seem unbelievable, but to me, it was clear that Stephen was attempting to convey a message to us.’
Holker expressed that she started finding the bed which Stephen and I previously slept on somewhat unsettling, and eventually, sleeping in it turned into a distressing ordeal for her.
In the book, she included a note saying, “Afterward, I noticed some strange occurrences. I began discovering scattered feathers, as per a text I’d read earlier, these were supposedly symbols of communication from the departed.
‘Was Stephen trying to tell me to let go of the house so we could soar instead of feeling stuck?
Holker went on saying, “I requested Stephen to inform us if he was keeping an eye on us. He seemed unusually watchful. Eventually, his constant presence felt oppressive, so I asked him to desist.
Weslie and I frequently had vivid, uncannily lifelike dreams about him. Frequently, it seemed as if he was perched on the brink of Weslie’s bed.
Previously, there were rumors that Holker was involved romantically with Adam Edmunds, a Salt Lake City-born entrepreneur who serves as the CEO of Entrata, a company specializing in property management software.
In May of 2023, Holker shared with PEOPLE the valuable life lessons she has been teaching her kids following our family’s unfortunate event.
Holker emphasized to the publication that both she and those she is teaching need to understand: just because you feel angry or sad does not make you a bad individual. It’s about dealing with our feelings collectively, which necessitates trust and openness.
She added: “We rely heavily on each other for support since each day brings a fresh wave of emotions. In truth, it’s not even day by day; it’s one moment at a time.
It’s always possible that something might cause a memory or thought to pop up, making us reflect a bit more deeply. That’s why it’s important for us to keep each other informed about our thoughts and feelings.
They’ve expressed that they’re all pulling together during these challenging periods, saying something like: “We’re making an effort to stay strong as a family.
