Call the Midwife teases surprise health scare for key character in first-look pics
In the upcoming episode of “Call the Midwife,” which airs on Sunday, February 9th, Nurse Rosalind falls ill with a puzzling condition, adding an element of mystery to the BBC drama.
Initial images depict Natalie Quarry’s portrayal of Rosalind, visibly distressed and limping, making her way along a corridor with great effort.
In the same setting, the nurse can be found lying on a bed, with Trixie and her close workmate Joyce appearing to be caring for her.
In the previous episode, Quarry’s character was dealing with a broken heart as he realized his feelings for the married pastor Cyril Robinson, knowing their relationship had no future. However, unexpectedly, Rosalind develops an illness that catches him off guard in this new episode.
During the very same episode, upon returning from Jamaica, Cyril seemed to distance himself from Rosalind due to some distressing updates about his personal life, particularly his marital issues. The revelation that his wife Lucille was seeking a divorce left Cyril in turmoil and made him question many aspects of his life.
Meanwhile, a second initial snapshot reveals that Rosalind and Cyril are spending time together once more. In this image, Rosalind is seated, apparently cradling Cyril’s feline companion, Nigel. The pastor is depicted kneeling before her, placing a hand on her arm.
Although their characters might object, viewers can anticipate a gradual growth of their romantic bond, as hinted by the actors themselves about upcoming changes in their dynamic.
Recently, Quarry made an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine show where they talked about their relationship. He expressed that their story is not yet over, hinting at Cyril’s upcoming journey to Jamaica.
Zephryn Taitte, portraying Cyril, shared insights about the uncertain romantic dynamics at the beginning of the season. He explained that his character was grappling with numerous questions and desired to maintain loyalty towards Lucille.
Speaking about my personal matters, I’m keen on resolving this situation with Lucille so I can continue my journey in life. That’s what I shared with Hello! and other media outlets when asked.
Call the Midwife airs on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
