Jillian Barberie Reveals $800K Playboy Offer and Pamela Anderson’s Surprising Advice!
On Monday, former Fox NFL Sports Sunday and Good Day LA host Jillian Barberie appeared as a guest on Armie Hammer’s podcast alongside her friend Heather Locklear.
During the sit down Jillian, 58, started talking the ’00s.
She mentioned that someone proposed a sum of eight hundred thousand dollars for her to appear naked in Playboy magazine, but she declined the offer.
Apart from stating her own assertion, Jillian mentioned that she had previously selected her photographer, Steve Wayda, and the venue, which is none other than Paris.
However, she appeared to back down despite encouragement from friend Pamela Anderson, who had graced the cover multiple times, urging her to accept the position.
The star mentioned that the magazine, which was under Hugh Hefner’s ownership, no longer contacted her once she reached forty, a fact she humorously noted caused a slight pang to her emotions.
In 2022 Barberie talked to DailyMail.com about her past.
Appeared as if the star was living the ideal life – boasting fame, a fulfilling career, and a devoted spouse – however, she encountered multiple obstacles along the way.
With the support of her trusted companion, Locklear, she shared with DailyMail.com her struggle with depression and fight against breast cancer, which eventually spiraled into an addiction that disrupted her entire life.
The individual, who has previously discussed addiction on the program Addiction Talk, shared that despite frequently questioning her friends about it, she personally doesn’t feel like she’s experienced significant trauma in her life, finding it somewhat ironic.
People may look at me and genuinely tell me, ‘Jillian, you’ve faced a great deal,’ but I believe that everything is subjective in its difficulty,” she concluded.
Jillian, known for her roles in Melrose Place and Sharknado, expressed her astonishment about her current situation, stating, “Life is an unbelievable rollercoaster ride that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed!
However, she didn’t do it alone. Her dear friend Heather Locklear, well-known from Melrose Place, was instrumental in helping her regain focus.
As I recount my story to DailyMail.com, I’d like to express my heartfelt appreciation for Heather, who has been more than just a friend to me. She stood by my side during my chemotherapy journey, providing invaluable support and assistance.
She mentioned that I assisted her during her recovery process, and now we chat daily. I also see her on most days of the week.
Locklear has been to rehab several times but has been much healthier in the past few years.
Jillian noted, “We consider ourselves incredibly lucky. We often claim to be one and the same. We share the same quirky sense of humor, and we both work in a similar eccentric field, so we understand each other quite well. Moreover, she doesn’t have an ounce of self-importance.
‘She’s one of the funniest women I’ve ever met. And we’re raunchy,’ said Jillian.
And she also said that she is very blessed to be sober right now.
14 months have passed, and it’s hard to envision enduring the struggles I experienced under the influence over the past year. Frankly, I feel like I’ve had enough. To be honest, for me, continued drinking feels like a path that might lead to my own destruction, not unlike how cancer would.
As far as her cancer, she says doesn’t look back.
‘I did have the double mastectomy, the chemo, the radiation,’ she shared.
I haven’t been the type of woman who viewed my body as a highly revered or sacred entity. I’ve taken care of my body well, but I never considered the possibility of breast cancer. To be honest, regular mammograms were never something that crossed my mind.
Instead of neglecting my body as if it were invincible, I wish I had embraced the opportunity presented by Playboy, which came my way four times but each time I declined. Looking back now, I can’t help but wonder what could have been if I had taken that path. However, it seems God had a unique destiny in store for me instead.
I regret not having gone through with it for the sake of prosperity. I used to love my natural breasts, but now I have implants and I’m not as satisfied with them anymore.
People commented, “Wow, steroids cause weight gain and hair loss,” but I’m not overly concerned about my appearance. My children are my priority. I asked my oncologist to push me close to the edge of death and then bring me back. At home, I have a 9-year-old and an 11-year-old. Cancer is now behind me.
I frequently remind others that, to me personally, having a drink is riskier than the possibility of my cancer recurring.
To me, I find it more terrifying to take a sip of Chardonnay than learning that my cancer has returned. Here’s why: If cancer recurs, doctors are there to help, they are the professionals who can surgically remove it and chemotherapy oncologists will guide you on the amount of treatment needed in your body. On the other hand, when drinking alcohol, you serve as your own doctor, making decisions about how much to consume.
Absolutely, I have no intention of returning to that troublesome phase. Reflecting on all my accomplishments, my alcohol consumption spiraled out of control.
Following my diagnosis, I want to be clear about this: it wasn’t solely due to the cancer; rather, a series of distressing events played a significant role in my situation.
Over the past decade, I’ve been managing as a single mother, navigating this journey solo. It hasn’t always been easy, but I can confidently say that it has been the most rewarding role I’ve ever taken on in my life. Each day brings me closer to what I hope is the other side of these challenges.
Between 1995 and 2012, she served as a co-presenter on the Fox-operated KTTV’s Los Angeles morning news and entertainment show, Good Day L.A.
‘I was fortunate enough to work in Hollywood,’ shared Barberie.
Winning four Emmys was almost accidental, as it seemed to happen gradually, like mushrooms growing in the dark. People didn’t seem to notice us much. As a result, we managed to pull off many things without much scrutiny on that show.
The atmosphere was playfully daring and entertaining, pushing limits in such a way that even A-list celebrities like Brad Pitt and George Clooney would forgo grand entertainment events and exclusive extras to join us directly, such was their appreciation for our program.
They were indeed ardent admirers of ours, and reciprocally, we admired them. Jennifer Aniston casually mentioned to me, “Oh my goodness, we adore yours. We tune in to you every morning.” At that moment, I couldn’t help but think, ‘I know exactly who she’s referring to.’
From 2000 to 2005, she appeared on Fox Sports as the weather host for Fox NFL Sunday.
And she had an acting career too.
She mentioned that she’s enjoyed numerous acting parts, and Sharknado four stood out as particularly unforgettable since her children were absolutely thrilled about it.
She had two children with Grant Reynolds, a well-known figure in Househusbands Of Hollywood, whom she was married to between 2006 and 2014. Their names are Ruby, who is now 15 years old, and Rocco, aged 12.
Jillian got personally chosen for ‘Sharknado’. This made me incredibly excited because the producers informed me that if I played the role of a reporter, I would receive more lines in the series or they could have my character killed by a shark. Upon returning home, I shared the news with my kids and before I could finish saying “you need to get my shark”, I was attacked by a shark on the train.
‘It’s ironic that in real life, I can’t bring myself to go into the ocean, despite loving comedy. I’m petrified of great whites! It baffles me how surfers face such creatures. Honestly, what lies beneath those waves? Oh my goodness, I didn’t sign up for being shark bait. I just don’t understand how they manage it.’
The star has also appeared on Clueless, V.I.P., and Melrose Place.
And Skating with Celebrities in 2006 was very hard.
At that moment, I believe it was around 38 years old for me, possibly in the peak of fitness since I hadn’t exercised regularly. The situation compelled us to be fit.
As an ardent admirer, let me tell you, we’d immerse ourselves in Epsom salt baths, making you reluctantly step aside due to muscle soreness or swollen/painful feet. But growing up on Canadian ice, I cherished every moment of it. We dedicated countless hours, roughly 11 a week, to perfecting our skills. Oh boy, I believe in the passion we shared for this frozen playground!
I got acquainted with every member of the Kardashian clan and developed a strong bond with them. To add, Bruce was quite the entertaining character.
One evening, we were both skating quite late into the night. Occasionally, I’d even doze off on the couch within the arena’s ice rink.
One evening, Bruce stepped away from the ice when Caitlyn (then Bruce) was present. However, an unfortunate fall left him with a gash on his cheek. Consequently, those around exclaimed in alarm, “Oh, my goodness! Call for an ambulance!
Instead of continuing our conversation, I chose to call Kris. It turned out to be fortunate because I got the chance to meet Kris, an extraordinary woman who hosted my baby shower. Spending time with her family was a joy. And I consider myself truly lucky.
She also talks about being adopted.
I was born with a unique blend of heritage: My mother hails from Ireland while my father is from London. When I took the 23andMe test, it accurately reflected this dual background of mine. However, it should be noted that I have Lithuanian roots through my father’s lineage.
It took work to find her family.
She employed a private investigator in search of her biological parents. As it turns out, they were both young when they independently moved to Canada, unaware of each other, and placed me up for adoption after my birth.
Three months after tying the knot, I received news that my biological mother had attempted to reconnect with me, but was unsuccessful. In time, they welcomed two more beautiful daughters into their lives. Therefore, yes, I am blessed to call these girls my birth sisters.
She mentioned an extraordinary fact: Several years later, she got a letter from England, coincidentally during a time when they were tracing their family lineage.
It was discovered that her cousin goes by the name Linda Lawrence, who is wedded to Donovan, and together they have two daughters.
And she has a son with Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones.
Raised in Canada, The Rolling Stones have always been my preferred musical group. Additionally, I find Donovan simply extraordinary. Remarkably, I’ve had the privilege of interviewing him numerous times, unbeknownst to me that he was married to my cousin.
In simpler terms, when I claim life is chaotic, it’s experiences like these I’m referring to. To be honest, I haven’t felt overly affected or traumatized by these events.
‘I feel like I have the greatest life.
Indeed, I’ve faced numerous challenges in my journey. However, I’d like to emphasize that these experiences haven’t left me scarred, but rather shaped and enlightened me. I’ve gained wisdom from them, and I find myself compelled to share this knowledge with others, be it about overcoming addiction or other life hurdles I’ve encountered. And in my view, the most precious gift one can receive is the ability to help others using the lessons we’ve learned along our path.
